I have always loved romance novels, but I actively avoided reading the serial romances; you know, the ones that can stand alone, but they work better if you read them as a series, in order, because they all follow the same town and the same people. I discovered an author I fell in love with and she specializes in the series romances, so I gave up my opposition and sought out others. I love them. 
	This is exactly what I want out of a good serial romance. We’re encountering characters we have at least heard of previously on Puffin Island (I read them LONG after publication, so I read them in “order”). We meet the troubled girl, this time hiding out, trying to figure her life out, then we meet the I-never-want-kids-or-a-family guy who swoops in and saves the day. This one comes complete with meddling grandmothers and neighbors and Morgan even threw in a phobia. 
	It was wonderful.

Becoming the guardian for her water-phobic niece, Emily has seen her life change and her stress level elevate, but when she meets yacht club owner Ryan, he makes it his personal mission to get her to unwind and enjoy life.

It’s confirmed: Sarah Morgan is currently one of my favorite authors! With the previous book, which is a prequel to this series, we had already had a taste of what was coming, but only now do we really get to know Puffin Island and its so special community.

The protagonist of First Time in Forever is Emily Donovan, who had already been mentioned by Brittany in Playing by the Greek's Rules. Emily, Brittany and Skylar met in college and have been friends ever since. Although completely different, both Emily and Skylar have familiar problems and they find solace in Puffin Island, especially in Castaway Cottage, Brittany’s grandmother’s house, where they spend every Summer vacation while they’re in school, a safe haven and the home they don’t have during the rest of the year.

And that is why, when Emily’s younger sister, the famous actress Lana Fox, dies and leaves her with custody of her six year old daughter Lizzie (whom Emily had never even met), Emily doesn’t hesitate in accepting Brittany’s offer to take refuge in Castaway Cottage. This is not particularly easy for her because she never wanted a family and doesn’t know the first thing about kids. And to be completely surrounded by water, when you’re afraid of the sea, definitely makes matters worse…

The most important thing now is to protect Lizzie and try to keep the situation under control, since the paparazzi are crazy trying to be the first to get a picture of the daughter of the late Lana Fox. And, even though she grew up protected by her mother (so much so that she was raised by the help), Lizzie has had some bad experiences that left her traumatized. The last thing Emily needs is to have Ryan Cooper constantly insinuating himself in hers and Lizzie’s lives…

It was only supposed to be a favor for his friend Brittany. Ryan was only going to go by Castaway Cottage and ask if she needed anything, but once Emily opens the door, Ryan is immediately attracted to her and is incapable to walk away. Despite the obvious attraction between them, Ryan should have known better and should just keep away from her. After all, he doesn’t want a relationship, quite the opposite, so to start something with someone who has a child on her care has to be a bad idea, right?

I loved everything about this book: the story, the characters, the community and the island itself. Another awesome small town that, unfortunately, only exists on paper! The story takes place simultaneously with the story on the prequel and the next book is going to start with the return of Brittany to Puffin Island. I can hardly wait!

Such a nice lovely fun easy read... I love the dynamic of the island and all the characters it’s so much fun!!! 

I liked love the main characters in this book a lot and their back stories were so well thought out, i like the introductions of the best friends and 100% the guys they will end up with. Perfect girlie read...
