omfg this manga has my heart. the nostalgia hit so hard, i loved this series sm when i was like 15 so coming back to it after 8 years and its still as swoonworthy and witty as i remember? if not more so? yeah this is great. was kicking my feet and actually giggling reading, cant wait to read the next ones :3

I'm so glad I gave this manga a second chance! 
I don't know why but the first time I started reading it I didn't like the pacing of it and Nanami seemed to be a boring protagonist, but at the second time I completely fell in love with this story!
Of course, we have your typical "manga shoujo girl" but she goes beyond (I've already read till vol 6) and she is more entrataining than other MCs I've read. 
Also I really like Tomoe, another arrogant male interest but he really cares about her and shows it many many times. He is still rude and "bad-boyish" along the manga but without being manipulative or straight up fuckboy. 
Really a must read!

I'm changing the rating to a 4 star just because it wasn't as gripping this time around.

I read this in one sitting. I just love the anime for this and had to pick up the manga. I can't necessarily say what it is but I love stories like these. They're fluffy, and magical, and funny. I really just love everything about it and can't wait to continue on with the series. 

It is the perfect combination if you want to read something quick and funny.

She decides to hold a summer festival for the local humans and yokai to revitalize the shrine's reputation. But Tomoe is strangely reluctant. I won't lie, i am waiting for that big emotional and rollercoaster ride that you usually get with mangas like these but as of right now it's pretty simple and fun. I guess Fruit's Basket set a standard for me but I'm still interested in the story overall.

What to say about volume two of Kamisama Kiss. I mean there is a lot to say, we get new characters, we start to see Nanami possibly liking Tomoe more than a friend or guardian, oh and we get BABY TOMOE!!!! Which safe to say I wanted to cuddle baby Tomoe and then there is long haired Tomoe and I am just like hot damn!

And then there is Kurama. Oh good ole Kumara. I definitely am worried about a potential love triangle situation. And we all know how much I “love” those. However, I am not thinking this will be the case or at least I am holding out that it won’t be. More than ever I think Kurama wants to get Nanami’s attention because she is the only girl that doesn’t like him nor puts up with his bullshit! Also, at the moment Nanami has more things to worry about than a super idol at her school. Like some sky demon lady trying to take the shrine from her. Also her eyes are for Tomoe only!

The character development is slowly moving a long and I have to say I don’t find Nanami annoying or insufferable. I have always found that female manga characters tend to be meek and not able to stand up for themselves. Just pretty faces. Nanami is definitely not like that and she proves it many times. I think it has to do with not having a mother and dealing with her father who was a gambler and drinker. Her hardships made her strong. 

And then there is Tomoe who is slowly starting to realize that maybe Nanami is going to be the one that doesn’t leave and will stay by his side. He has never had anyone to rely on and you can see that he has the best interest for Nanami in mind and while he hafts tough he definitely wants to take care of her. He is the “bad boy” with the soft heart trope.

Also I love the antics between all of the characters. Especially Nanami and Tomoe, as well as Kamura and Tomoe! I could secretly see Tomoe and Kamura be begrudgingly BFF’s. You know the ones that hit each other and are all manly but will have late night chats with tea or something.

This series is definitely already picking up speed and with 23 more volumes to go I can’t wait to see what Suzuki has in store for us! After I read the manga series I might have to rewatch the anime. Lol I might just start it now!
