Got uninterested. Idk maybe I’ll try again later 😭🤣

broke my own heart

Excuse me while I ugly cry.

"Had she really thought the world didn't change? She was a fool. The world was made of miracles, unexpected earthquakes, storms that came from nowhere and might reshape a continent. The boy beside her. The future before her. Anything was possible." ✨

This book was just as good as the first one, except it was a little slower. There was nothing wrong with the book and I love the characters and their build, but this book took me so long to get through.

I just love the crows :)

** spoiler alert ** I really loved this book. The only thing that confused me was the auction and some of the logistics of that. Chapter 39 and 40 killed me though.

AHHHHHH OH MY GOSH I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!! I knew as soon as I finished Six of Crows that I would love Crooked Kingdom just as much... and I did. Loved everything about it: character development, plot, the FREAKING RELATIONSHIPS!!! I loved it all and I am PRAYING that Bardugo decides to make this a triology, and soon for that matter because I need more Six of Crows stories and I need it now. Truly recommend reading the sequel to the Six of Crows novel because it was amazing, amazing, and let’s say it again for the people in the back... AMAZING!!

I liked the first book but this one was SO MUCH BETTER. So much laughter and tears, and so much to love within each of our main characters. This book, and series, deserves all the hype it gets. The plot is so good and there are multiple heists and multiple plots twist. AND SO MANY “Omg did that just happen” moments. I already miss my dregs.

I love this book with my entire soul. After having read the first book I didn't think anything could be better, but then this masterpiece of a book proved me wrong. As well as with the first book I wish I could go back in time and reading it for the very first time. This is one of my favorite books, even though it crushed my heart in certain points during the book.

**MIGHT CONTAIN MINOR SPOILERS** The Six of Crows duology is, in my opinion, the best entry in the Grishaverse so far. I found the characters more compelling, although most of them fell into extreme caricatures. But for me, it worked. And while the adventures were at times redundant, Bardugo still had me emotionally involved through my appreciation of the characters and their hardships. (view spoiler)[The act where Wylan and Jesper finding out the truth about Wylan's mother had me pause to process my own feelings. (hide spoiler)] And ultimately, it was harder to say goodbye to the Dregs than it was to the Shadow and Bones cast. Speaking of cast, Kaz Brekker has to be the most unique archetype of a character in the duology. For better or worse, the rest of the cast could feel generic at times (eg. Matthias). In the end, they fulfilled the role they were meant to in a tasteful way. On a different note, Six of Crows feels like strong improvement from the Shadow and Bones trilogy, which is a testament to Bardugo improving as an author. She found her niche in YA literature, and I believe Bardugo and her Grishaverse have the potential to become a staple of her time. Her narrative is easy to follow, and her flow lends itself perfectly for a read to escape reality.

6 months later I’m ready to write something about this book — leigh lock your doors, it’s a 5 stars read, but was THAT necessary??? absolutely not I won’t ever change my rating bye

EVERYTHING HURTS - full review to come

** spoiler alert ** I'm in tears! This book was amazing, I'm still not over Matthias dying, it broke my heart. And Inej at the end with Pekka was so GOOOOD! I really loved the relationship between Inej and Kaz, both of them surviving their trauma and slowly letting themselves heal with each other. It was an amazing story between them, and I hope one day in the future we can read about what happens between them. I always knew Kaz was a secret softie at heart

4,25 stars The beginning was a bit slow, but the ending broke me. Why do I always pick the wrong character as my favourite?! If anyone is looking for me, I'll be laying in my bed drowning in tears.

Wow, what the heck? Seriously? Could this have been any better? Leigh Bardugo continues on the fantastic ride with Crooked Kingdom and absolutely does not disappoint. "No Mourners, no funerals. Another way of saying good luck. But it was something more. A dark wink to the fact that there would be no expensive burials for people like them, no marble markers to remember their names, no wreaths of myrtle and rose." I was just as entranced by this story as I was the first time around. Bardugo includes an enchanting story with so many little hidden twists and turns that just makes this book a wonderful page turner. Being a broke college student, I was finally able to get my hands on it. And my mouth did water seeing those beautiful red pages on the hardcover addition, may I add. The narrative continues from where it started, and gets even better, believe it or not. I have always had a hard time with books that often switch perspectives for characters. I can hardly stand three perspectives in a book at once, but somehow Bardugo manages 6, yes SIX perspectives throughout this book without muddling the story while keeping me entertained. I never once got to a chapter and was disappointing in the perspective I was about to read. I stayed attached to the characters throughout and that was that. But, I will say I had my skepticism when it came the the triple couple situation going on. A part of me thought Really? Three romantic stories? but I found myself not bothered at all by the cliche and fully enjoyed each pair. I had been rooting for Inej and Kaz since the first book. They are perfectly broken and beautiful, how could you not? And would you look at this, there was a gay relationship(!) what a beautiful surprise! I was excited to see if Burdugo kept this one going from what was hinted at in the first novel, and I was so excited to see this progress. And I was pretty satisfied with the ending. It ties up all the loose strings, while still leaving some aspects of the story to your imagination. It was perfection. But, I can definitely say that if Bardugo all of a sudden decided to keep on going with these, I would not object. There is so much to work with with this world and these characters. It's so much fun. All in all, 500 out of 5. Seriously. This is up there for me with A Darker Shade of Magic. Mystery, comedy, magic, politics, world building, friendships, action, character building, and love relationships. It had it all. Read this and be revived.

Oh my god! This was all I was saying throughout the book it was basically a madhouse inside of me but woah this book did NOT disappoint. The plot was great as usual, we got the perfect balance between plot and the characters which was soooo crucial. (view spoiler)[ I have absolutely fallen in LOVE with jesper who SURPRISE SURPRISE was my favorite character. His humour was such a huge relief from the density of Kaz and his staunch personality. I really liked their friendship and (hide spoiler)]

“Fear is a phoenix. You can watch it burn a thousand times and still it will return.” Now, we can insert again Gimme Gimme by ABBA. I have to warn that the review is full of spoilers, and you never know when or at what point you will find one. So, if you haven't read the book yet and want to avoid spoilers (like me), read no further. Once again, Leigh Bardugo did it. I must admit that at this point, I've just finished the book and am trying to organize my thoughts through the pain and snot, I'm still crying and my head hurts from it. The conclusion of Six of Crows came and in splendid fashion. It's everything I expected and a hell of a lot more. There are things I didn't even see coming and I loved them. Once again, I emphasize that Leigh has improved tremendously as a writer and her plots, her writing and her storytelling, grab you from the very first moment. In any case, I have to say that I am 90% satisfied with the outcome of this duology that stole my heart, my soul, my spirit and my being completely. Kaz plans a final blow, creates a master plan, but not like we saw in Fjerda. Oh, no. Now he has a motive to sink Jan Van Eck even deeper: for kidnapping Inej. And, although Inej is turned over to the others in the first 150 pages, the rest gets more and more interesting. They're not going to stop there just because Van Eck played a bad trick on them that left them in vulnerable positions. Kaz wants Van Eck to sink into a hole he'll never climb out of again. Okay, that's enough of that. Let's get down to business. I won't summarize the book because that's not what I plan to do. I plan to express my thoughts on this masterpiece. I loved it. From the beginning to the end. I laughed, I screamed, I cried, I got angry, and most of all, I enjoyed it. This is the kind of book that I devour in days, that makes me excited enough to stay up late at night reading it. It's the kind of book that makes my heart flip and then flip back to where it belongs, or where my anxiety is on the edge of the cliff and is about to throw me somewhere. The plot grabbed me, I thought the character development was just right, excellent and well unraveled. I liked how Leigh explained a lot about the background of the characters through memories and intertwined them with their present actions. Leigh's writing is divine, it grabbed me and I loved it, I even love her short stories. Everything about this book delighted, fascinated and thrilled me. When Sturmhond appeared, I cried like a little girl, because I missed him too much, as well as my goddess Zoya and my queen Genya. I would have liked to see David, but I have enough with them. I forgot to add some things, lmao. Kaz: You fucking little genius. You got me screaming and so fucking anxious during the entire book, made my heart racing. Inej:Thank you for beating the shit out of Dunyasha, we needed it. A truly queen who deserves the entire world and being back with her family. Nina: My sweetie pie, I want to protect you from this cruel cruel cruel world and give you all my love. Also, waking up the dead? A MF QUEEN. YOU CAN HAVE MY BODY AND MY SOUL TOO. Jesper: A baby. I wanted to kick him SO bad, but also hug him and tell him that everything was gonna be alright. His father is so sweet and naive that I must protect him at all cost. Wylan: Hun, you deserve to be happy, be again with your mom (tbh I cried when he found out that his mom was alive), and have all the fucking money that your fucking and ugly father denied you. My sweet angel. Matthias: I will always love you, my big bear :( I already miss you and know that I cried for you like for two hours, and I'm still crying. You deserved so mucH MORE AND YOUR DEATH WAS SO INSIGNIFICANT AND RIDICULOUS, I WAS EXPECTING MORE FROM YOUR DEATH, DEAR LEIGH, WHY???? I'M PISSED OFF, BUT I'M STILL LOVE MY BIG TULIP BOY. Leigh: thank you for giving me so much in so little and spare my life for taking so long. Also, Leigh: I will never forgive you for what you did to my sweet Matthias. He was my favorite in this bilogy and you ripped him from me like he was my own heart. Chapter 40 took away any hope of life I had. I have nothing else to say, and if I do, I will probably edit this review to add more positive things of this masterpiece, but for now, my 5 stars and my broken and bleeding heart for Matthias Benedik Helvar say it all. my current mood right now:

HOLY SHIT.

I will never fully recover from this

i may have not read all the books in the world yet but THIS BOOK HAS THE BEST FOUND FAMILY TROPE 😭❤️

Wow. I have no words. This was amazing, I've cried, I've thrown the bok across the room. Beautiful 😍

I cried a lot. ;)

This book was everything I didn’t know I needed and more. The character development was amazing. The plot kept me hooked And once again Leigh Bardugo and her writing did not disappoint. All the stars and more to this book.

Had she really believed a merch could outthink Kaz Brekker? Kaz would get her free and then thev'd show this man exactly what whores and canal rats could do. "Console yourself," she said as Van Eck clutched the ragged corner of the table for support. “Even better men can be bested."

Nina nodded emphatically. "lt's true. Genya Safin knows poisons like no one else, and David Kostyk developed all kinds of new weapons for King Nikolai." She glanced at Matthias. "And other things too! Nice things. Very peaceable."

The Wraith's life is worth more than that," said Matthias. "To all of us."

Jesper gave Kuwei another nudge. "That's Kaz 's way of saying, 'Help Wylan or I'll seal you up in one of these tombs and see how that suits your interest.
