Despite myself, my attention snags on the tall dark-haired woman in purple. Unlike the others, she stares out at the room with a provocation that feels almost violent.

“I made a deal with a demon. Compared to Azazel, you’re just a dude with bat wings. Nothing to write home about.” She smirks. “Cute horns, though. Really adorable.” My horns are not adorable.

“Very well. As discussed, there will be regular check-ins with a demon of my choosing. If at any point the contract is violated, the gargoyle territory becomes mine. There are several clauses to ensure good behavior from all parties.”

“Your room is through there. There are some clothes available, but I’ll have others made after we get your measurements. Dinner is in an hour.” He pauses, as if realizing how brusque he sounds. “I would appreciate it if you would eat with me.”

Steady pace, story has a good twist which you can see coming but most won’t. Fun addition to the series

I probably would have rated this higher if it weren't for the typos in the book. I feel like something published like this should not have typos. It was a cute short read. It is definitely different from Court of the Vampire Queen, like there's barely any smut. The story has promise though. Could have been better than court of the vampire queen if it continued.

A Deal With A Demon #3

I liked this one waaaay better than Dragon's Bride 👏

Grace and Bram had good chemistry and the ending was very sweet (of course!). I like that Bram didn't fit into the surly monster role, he was honestly a bit of a cinnamon roll who just loves a strong lady!

I love that the protagonist Grace has implicit reason to be in the demon realm. She's a monster hunter with a mystery to solve - it felt like a more cohesive story than the previous two books which felt more PWP. (Like that's also fine, but I liked having more world-understanding with Grace as our protagonist!)

The scene with the marshmallow roasting that was mentioned in the tags felt a little misplaced when it happened in the story (maybe being earlier would've made more sense?) but that was the only bit that took me out of it. I read the first 100 pages in one sitting, I loved it 😂

I read the physical paperback and the book itself and the cover are beautiful - but I was surprised to find at least a half dozen typos in the text.

Maybe it's just a poor edit, but there was a handful of missed punctuations, some missed spaces, and a couple typos or additional nonsensical words that weren't deleted. (Like a sentence starting with  "I My..." on accident.) Unfortunate since I feel these could've been caught with one more read-thru. I read The Dragon's Bride on ebook and don't recall any typos.
