When a pretty house flipper with wanderlust and a hit Youtube channel hires a charming, small-town landscaper, he tries to convince her to finally plant roots. Ready for her next challenge, house flipper and YouTube sensation Maggie Nichols arrives in Kinship, Idaho, with only a cot and a coffeemaker, to bring a crumbling eighteen-room Victorian mansion back to life in four months, five tops. At least, that's the idea until she meets tall, charming landscaper Silas Wright. Maggie hates distractions from her mile-long to-do list. Even if the distraction looks really good shirtless. Now not only does she have a determined suitor on her hands, there's her half-sister who shows up on her doorstep with a toddler and a big ask. And her ex-husband Dean and Silas's stepbrother who start to a explore a romantic relationship of their own. Not to mention a treasure hunt for hidden gold. Silas is confident he'll win in the end and isn't above playing dirty. He's constantly distracting Maggie with things like kayaking and skinny-dipping. In bed, he teaches her how to really let go. Despite her best efforts, Maggie just might be falling for him but that doesn't mean she's going to stay. She never stays. Her entire career is built on moving on. As the completion of the house looms, Silas's mother and stepmother deliver some sage wisdom: If he really loves Maggie, he can't just ask her to give up everything for him. He also has to be willing to give it all up for her.

While this wasn’t the small town I wanted (I’m sorry, I just want to live in Knockemount forever) I still loved it. Lucy Score’s characters are infuriating in the best way. They’re people you’ve met and know and love and want to slap sometimes 😂 I love a HGTV moment and this absolutely did it for me and T he found family was the cherry on top. If you’re in your small town era, you won’t be disappointed with this read. And spoiler alert, there’s a cute ass dog too. 🐶

i’m literally crying right now. this was so cute. i loved the characters. but can we talk about silas and his flirting? that man had me jumping up and down. i love the two lucy score books i’ve read so far so i know i’ll love the others. anyway, i’m so glad i bought this book

This has been one of my absolute favorite reads of this year. Every character has something special to bring to the table. From the beginning, I was smitten with the concept and as I kept going forward, I just kept falling in love even more with the whole story. Maggie is the most hard-headed woman on earth but with good reason, Silas is the ultimate book boyfriend and is the literal “whole package”. If you are a fan of Hallmark feel-good movies, this is the book for you. The concept of going to a small town and renovating a piece of history never fails. It was just the perfect book. I cannot wait to read more of Lucy’s books,

I am fast becoming a huge fan of Lucy Score’s romantic comedies. I absolutely loved the world and characters she set up in Kinship Idaho for this story. The YouTube home renovation show was also a great premise. My one drawback, as much as I enjoy a well done alpha male, I had a bit of a problem with how much Silas didn’t respect Maggie’s boundaries throughout the story. Especially, with his upbringing and super enlightened Moms and siblings. This still ticked all the rom com highlights, and I enjoyed it. It just really twinged a few of my fear triggers here and there with his possessiveness early on and in some spots where he pushed a bit harder than I was comfortable with. That said, I still liked the book, and it is worth at least 4 stars ⭐️

When she takes on a Victorian known as "The Campbell House" in Kinship, Idaho, she may have bitten off more than she can chew, but with the help of her former husband, Dean, and Silas, the "Hot Landscaper," as well as a cast of quirky characters, Maggie may just be able to pull off the renovation of a lifetime.  The big question is, once she has finished, will she continue to move on to new projects as she has done for the last decade or will she find the roots and family that she didn't know she had been looking for.

Maggie Moves On is a cute romance about Maggie who is afraid of commitment and Silas who is determined to get Maggie to commit.  The two leads are well developed, so it is easy to understand Maggie's hesitation, however, it does become a bit annoying after a while.  Silas's family and all of the others that join Maggie's quest are entertaining, but there are so many, that it is difficult to keep track or to find fully realized arcs for any of them.  The ending of the story is satisfying, but seemed to drag on too long as with other parts of the book.  Overall, Maggie Moves On is an enjoyable story that might have been better with fewer pages.

Okay so I loved this book! I've read a few other Lucy Score books in the past and really liked them, but I think this is my favorite so far. 

Maggie was one of those characters that you can't not love. We stan a woman who chases after her goals, gives love and kindness freely and who also buys all home goods she sees (anyone who has been to Target can relate). I liked her journey throughout the book and thought the way her family story line was introduced was really lovely.

Silas was a dreamboat and I loved his dog. It cracked me up that he decided upon first meeting her that she was the one and wasn't shy about letting her know it. I also loved that he could read her so well and made sure her needs (even if those were just to be alone for a while) were taken care of. His gift giving was super swoony - it wasn't even giant things, but we all love to know we have been thought of. I also really enjoyed his believing of signs and the way that was wrapped up with Maggie at the end. 

I really appreciated the side treasure hunt story and thought it was integrated well!

I was hesitant to pick this up because I believe romances shouldn't be longer than ~350-pages. I don't see the reasoning behind dragging a story out to where you're teetering over the 400+ page mark. I'm happy to report that this wasn't the case here. The story never felt slow, and I was entertained the entire time. I liked Score's writing style and thought the flirty banter between Maggie and Silas was spot-on. There were moments when I thought Silas came off a little too possessive and arrogant, but I liked him nonetheless (his adorable dog helped.) I liked how taken he was with Maggie right from the start, and it was cute watching their playfulness turn into something more. I also loved the family Maggie found in all the other townspeople. It added another layer to the story. I liked watching as they all chipped in to redo the house and the subsequent treasure hunt. Overall, I thought this was super fun and steamy, and I'd be interested in picking up more of her books.

This book is so much fun and I adore the found family. Silas does come on a bit strong at the beginning but he grew on me. I would have liked a tad bit more from the love confession at the end but I still think it was really good.

I absolutely loved this book! It’s perfect for fans of Tessa Bailey’s ‘Hot and Hammered’ series or Sophie Sullivan’s ‘How to Love Your Neighbor’. Author Lucy Score has absolutely nailed it with this home renovation themed romance turned mystery. I found that the characters were all likeable (even the grouchy ones) and I found myself rooting for each and every one of them as the story progressed. Although I am not normally a reader of historical fiction, I found that the historical elements and underlying mystery interested me just as much as the romance between Maggie and Silas. I am so glad to have found 'Maggie Moves On' and am very much looking forward to reading what Lucy Score publishes next (hopefully it involves Kevin and the kittens)!
