Faking It was a book I saw as a Audible Original, although it did become released in ebook format this past week I believe. I adore K. Bromberg, her writing is packed with giggles and strong emotions and her writing is the type that just pulls you into a story and you quickly fall for the characters and I have to admit that was the case here. I had such a fun time with this book and I do want to give plenty of the credit to the narrators for this book, its dual POV so there were a couple of different narrators who were Ruper Channing and Erin Mallon...both of whom I am really coming to love in contemporary romance.

Faking It begins with our heroine, Harlow, who is going out to a job interview but she goes to the wrong door and ends up having a dog leash placed in her hand and demanded to deliver it with the door shut in her face, and so she ends up being late to an interview which did not bode well since she really needs a job. She ends up in the elevator with the jerk who might be a sexy Aussie but still rude and an ass and she tells him straight out as she can tell that he is an obvious player. Zane is intrigued by Harlow, who takes no crap from anyone and tells it how it is. So to make amends he brings her new shoes and an invite to an evening to meet some up and up business people so maybe she can find a job opportunity. But when she arrives neither Zane or Harlow expected that the game they would play with each other will land them in a situation where they will have to fake a relationship of being in love.

Zane is the new CEO of a online dating company and needs investors and connections to really make it succeed. One of the big ones, thinks that he and Harlow are “together” and wants them to travel all over and act like a loving couple who met on the site. Harlow at first is reluctant, but she does need a job and the financial reimbursement is too big for her to pass up even if that means she has to fake being in love with Zane who can be too arrogant and egotistical. Zane has his reasons for not believing in love, his home life wasn’t the greatest, but he needs this venture to succeed. But what he and Harlow don’t plan on is the falling in love with each other.

In this book though we see the positive aspects of seeing a fake relationship trope in a romance. I love seeing this trope in romance, and K. Bromberg is pure talent in this book because I love seeing how she handled a fake relationship. Because Faking It was some of the BEST that I have ever seen in a book that shows this trope and man these two were so hilarious. Their bantering was right on point with the flow of the story and I enjoyed seeing how these two interacted and had a few Fights that were beyond entertaining. Seeing them living together in a bus as they travel, and always under scrutiny was pretty fun but they also develop a affection for one another as we see all the public displays of affection they have to give out but we also see them take some unique trips on their own and spend time together. We see them argue of course, but also play and laugh together.

Some other fun dynamics that we see in this story is seeing our hero learn the value of love. Harlow believes in love even though she has had some painful experiences in the past but she grew up with a mother who is a romantic at heart and never lost her belief in love. So she isn’t quite as cynical as Zane is. Zane is a endearing hero though, he does have a soft side that he doesn’t let many people see. He grew up with parents that were alcoholics so we see how driven he is to succeed. He has established his own companies all on his own and I admired how driven he is.

The romance that builds between them is slow and gradual, they have the chemistry right off the bat though and we see how much fun they have arguing at times. But we also see the passion that explodes between them And I admit that I adored seeing this happen, seeing them come to terms with what they were feeling for each other and that it was a lot more than just a fake relationship. I had such a fun time seeing their romance unravel, seeing the slow depth of emotion come through into this story here. Faking It is a angsty but humor filled story that gives you all the happy feels, a story that is guaranteed to show the reader the value of accepting love when you fiind it and letting go of past hurts. OVERALL A STORY TO DEVOUR!!
