Audiobook tracker

The audiobook tracker for your whole listening life

Whether you listen on Audible, Libro.fm, Spotify, Storytel, or your library's app — Literal is the place where every audiobook you finish gets logged.

Audiobooks deserve their own log

Audible has a library of what you\'ve bought. Spotify and Libro.fm have a list of what you\'ve started. Your library\'s Libby account knows what you borrowed. None of them give you the full picture across sources — and none of them play well with the books you\'re also reading on Kindle or paper.

Literal is the cross-source layer. Mark a book "Finished" regardless of where you listened to it. Your year in books shows audiobooks alongside ebooks and physical, with a format breakdown that actually reflects how you read.

What Literal handles for audiobook listeners

  • Format-aware tracking

Mark a book as audiobook when you finish it. Year in books separates audio, ebook, and paper.

  • Works across services

Audible, Libro.fm, Spotify, Storytel, Libby, library apps — Literal doesn't care where you listened.

  • Reviews on the same book

Your audiobook review and your ebook review for the same title share a book page. Switch formats mid-read.

  • Goodreads / Storygraph importer

Bring your existing audiobook history across. Format metadata where the export includes it.

  • Listening time on roadmap

Hours-listened stats are a known gap. Coming as part of the planned paid tier with Audible / Libro.fm sync.

  • Speed-listened? Note it

Use a custom shelf or your review to note playback speed. Some readers care; the system doesn't enforce.

Frequently asked questions

Does Literal import from Audible?
Not natively today. Many listeners cross-post to Goodreads, then run Literal's Goodreads importer. Native Audible sync is on the roadmap as part of an upcoming paid tier.
Can I track listening time per book?
Not yet at session granularity. We track dates and overall status; per-session listening time is roadmap.
Will my Libro.fm purchases sync?
Not natively yet. We're evaluating Libro.fm sync as part of the same roadmap.
Can I see my audiobook count for the year?
Yes — year in books breaks down by format, so you see audiobook count separately from ebook and paper.
