Drawing from experiences with tragic child death within his own family, the author handles the subject with truth and poignancy, even as the circumstances surrounding this particular tragedy grow ever more disturbing and mysterious. The reader will struggle to figure out who they can trust in this novel, which is full of enough twists and half-truths to keep them guessing right up until the end.
