Written in collaboration by three authors with similar ideas on Indo-European Linguistics, this book aims to give a view in close accordance with our current knowledge of the Indo-European language in its different phases and dialects. Naturally, there may be a somewhat subjective appreciation of ideas that are most widely accepted today. Neither do the authors in any way conceal their own ideas in the book. However, they attempt to present them as such and at the same time give an objective view of common opinion and other proposals. The aim of the work is therefore to achieve three purposes simultaneously. One, to offer a Manual for students in which essential data are clearly presented. Second, to present the current state of the reconstruction of Indo-European - of the several types of Indo-European - according to the more widely accepted doctrines. And finally: to expound the authors' own ideas or proposals, whether these be firm or tentative, whatever the case. In order to achieve all this, constant reference is made to the history of the issues brought up and the opinions of different linguists. A substantial bibliography will be included in the third volume.

Este material didáctico marca los primeros pasos para una aproximación al estudio de la lengua y de la cultura griegas.Sus unidades didácticas se organizan en dos ejes: uno lingüístico, en el que se estudian nociones básicas de la gramática griega y se proponen ejercicios graduados para facilitar el aprendizaje de la morfología, de la sintaxis y del léxico científico y técnico; y otro cultural, basado en una serie de temas de historia, arte, cultura y vida cotidiana, profusamente ilustrados. Se hace especial hincapié en la influencia de la cultura griega en la Modernidad. Los aspectos más sobresalientes de la obra son: a) el acceso gradual a la lengua griega siguiendo un método que permite aprender la morfología a través de la práctica de la traducción desde el principio, comenzando por frases sencillas para terminar con textos breves de poca dificultad; b) una selección de lecturas de pasajes de la literatura griega, que son una iniciación en cuestiones fundamentales de la cultura helénica, completada con numerosas ilustraciones; c) el acceso a la cultura griega a través del estudio del marco geográfico, las etapas de su civilización, nociones básicas del arte griego, las instituciones políticas, el origen de los géneros literarios, las cosmogonías y principales ciclos míticos, los temas de la vida diaria: la educación, el ocio, el juego y los espectáculos, la situación de la mujer, etc.Dirigida, en primer término, a los alumnos del primer nivel de bachillerato de griego en la modalidad a distancia, será igualmente útil a estudiantes presenciales de griego de bachillerato, así como a estudiantes universitarios de los primeros cursos que necesiten asentar conocimientos básicos. Todo ello sin descartar el interés que representa para un público culto que desee acceder a un conocimiento básico, pero solvente, de la lengua y la cultura griegas.

Orphic gold tables are key documents for the knowledge of rites and beliefs of Orphics, an atypical group that configured a highly original creed and that influenced powerfully over other Greek writers and thinkers. The recent discovery of some tablets has forced a noteworthy modification of some points of view and a review ofthe different hypothesis proposed about them. The book presents a complete edition of the texts, their translation and some fundamental keys for their interpretation, in an attempt at updating our current knowledge on Orphic ideas about the soul and the Afterlife stated in those texts. The work is improved with an appendix of iconographic annotations in which some plastic representations in drawings are reproduced related to the universe of tablets, selected and commented on by Ricardo Olmos.
