Der vorliegende Sammelband zur „Poetik des Alltags” versteht sich als Fortsetzung und Gegenstück der 2010 erschienenen Sammlung „Festkultur in der russischen Literatur” und konzentriert sich auf Fragen der Auffassung, Repräsentation und Interpretation von Alltäglichkeit in literarischen Texten, untersucht das wandelbare Verständnis von Alltag in unterschiedlichen Gesellschaftsschichten und historischen Zeiträumen, zeichnet das Bild des vom Alltag bestimmten und den Alltag ästhetisch gestaltenden künstlerischen Menschen. Das Spektrum der Beiträge reicht von der Adelskultur des 18. Jahrhunderts über die avantgardistischen Lebensentwürfe der Wende vom 19. zum 20. Jahrhundert und der folgenden sowjetischen Alltagskultur bis hin zu den Entwicklungen der letzten Jahre einer großen Zeitenwende. The Cinema of Wim Wenders: The Celluloid Highway is a new study of the films of this most prominent of German directors, and penetrates the seductive sounds and images for which he is best known. The book analyses the individual films in the context of a preoccupation central to all of Wenders' work and writings: why modern cinema - a recording art, solely composed of sounds and images - naturally developed into a primarily narrative medium, a domain traditionally associated with words and sentences? With its emphasis on analysing the films themselves, this book identifies and critically elucidates Wenders' chief artistic motivation: that the act of seeing can constitute a creative act in its own right.

Mit der Herausgabe der gesammelten Aufsatze zur russischen Literatur- und Geistesgeschichte des Frankfurter Slavisten Alfred Rammelmeyer (1909-1995) werden die verstreuten Studien dieses grossen Gelehrten in ihrer thematischen Koharenz vorgestellt. Rammelmeyer hat mit seiner Dissertation uber die russische Fabel im 18. Jahrhundert einen der produktivsten Forschungszweige der deutschen Slavistik eroffnet. Aus diesem Umkreis bringt der Band zwei Studien. Das zweite grosse Arbeitsgebiet Rammelmeyers war die Dostoevskij-Forschung. Obgleich Rammelmeyer die geplante Dostoevskij-Monographie nicht vollenden konnte, geben die in dem Band versammelten 13 Dostoevskij-Studien Einblick in die philologisch uberaus genaue, ideengeschichtlich und komparatistisch bestimmte Sichtweise Rammelmeyers. Weitere Arbeitsgebiete Rammelmeyers, aus denen mehrere Beitrage enthalten sind, waren die deutsch-slavische Wechselseitigkeit, die Themen- und Motivforschung, sowie die orthodoxe Geistigkeit. Aus dem Nachlass Rammelmeyers werden vier bisher unbekannte Arbeiten fur diese Edition erschlossen. Alle Texte wurden in der Schreibweise der russischen Namen und Worter vereinheitlicht.

This volume on avant-garde film has emerged as part of a wider reassessment of 20th century avant-garde art, literature and film carried out in the framework of a research project at the University of Edinburgh. It paves the way for a fresh assessment of avant-garde film and develops its theory as an integral part of a newly defined conception of the avant-garde as a whole, by closing the gap between theoretical approaches towards the avant-garde as defined on the basis of art and literature on the one hand and avant-garde cinema on the other. It gathers contributions by the most esteemed scholars in the field of avant-garde studies relating to the “classical” avant-garde cinema of the 1920s, to new trends emerging in the 1950s and 1960s and to the impact that innovative technologies have recently had on the further development of avant-garde and experimental film.
