Gerade Japan verfügt über ein außergewöhnlich komplexes Mediensystem, das sich mit Blick auf seine Gesamtheit nur in Umrissen darstellen lässt. Besonders für das Rundfunkwesen gilt, dass es sich derzeit aufgrund der fortschreitenden Digitalisierung des terrestrischen Fernsehens sowie zahlreicher neuer Anbieter in einer Umbruchphase befindet, deren Auswirkungen und Ausmaße noch nicht absehbar sind. In Deutschland sorgten die Zulassung privater Rundfunkanbieter sowie neue Übertragungstechniken durch Kabel und Satellit für einen Umbruch in der Medienlandschaft, bevor nun weitere nachhaltige Veränderungen, bedingt vor allem durch die Digitalisierung der TV-Signale, anstehen. Sowohl für den deutschen als auch den japanischen Fernsehmarkt gilt, dass die kommenden Jahre geprägt sein werden vom Einsatz digitaler Technik. Kein Bereich der Wertschöpfungskette eines TV-Senders wird unverändert bleiben. Diese gravierenden Neuerungen werden sich nicht nur auf das derzeit bestehende Angebot auswirken, sondern auch zu einem wesentlich stärkeren Konkurrenzaufkommen führen. Zum einen werden zunehmend internationale Medienkonzerne auf die Fernsehmärkte drängen, zum anderen eröffnet die starke technische Entwicklung auch branchenfremden Anbietern Möglichkeiten, auf dem Fernsehmarkt tätig zu werden. Wie schnell und deutlich sich die Fernsehmärkte wandeln, wird in beiden Ländern in nicht unerheblichen Maß von Seite der Rezipienten mit bestimmt. Dass Digitaltechnik im Produktionsbereich eingesetzt wird, ist längst gängig. Eine größere Herausforderung liegt für die Akteure auf den Fernsehmärkten darin, bei den Rezipienten eine breite Akzeptanz hinsichtlich neuer Distributionsmöglichkeiten von Inhalten zu schaffen. Wie stark und in welche Richtung hier die Entwicklung geht, wird maßgeblich von den Möglichkeiten abhängen, die neue Endgeräte für Empfang und Nutzung digitaler Angebote bieten. Weder auf dem deutschen noch auf dem japanischen Fernsehmarkt werden sich die technischen Veränderungen und die daraus resultierenden Folgen aufhalten lassen. Die Unterschiede zwischen beiden Märkten liegen vor allem in der Akzeptanz und Offenheit für Neuerungen seitens der Rezipienten. Das täglich zur Verfügung stehende Zeitbudget lässt sich nicht verlängern, wenn weiterhin die strikte Trennung von Fernsehen und Mobilität oder Fernsehen und PC beibehalten bleibt. [...]

Fablehaven meets How To Train Your Dragon in this action-packed finale to the Seekers of the Wild Realm duology, following Bryn and Ari as they figure out how to stop the return of a plague. Now that Bryn and Ari are official Seekers, they are excited to help the rest of the council in keeping the Realm, and the magical creatures who live there, safe. During a routine check with their beloved magical dragon, Lijla, Bryn and Ari discover a baby gyrpuff with mysterious dark eyes. It’s clearly unwell, and after explaining to the rest of the elder council, they fear that a massive plague that crippled the Realm years prior has somehow returned. Though Bryn and Ari manage to save the gyrpuff (named Little Puff) from near death, it is now up to Bryn, Ari, and the rest of the Seekers to find out how exactly this plague has returned—and whether or not human forces were at work in bringing it back.
