Amina A Memon
About
Amina Memon is a social and cognitive psychologist, academic, and author. She is a professor of psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her work focuses on understanding the impact of cognition, emotion and social contexts on memory and decision making in legal and forensic settings to help ensure that vulnerable eyewitnesses, including children, young adults, seniors, and people with autism spectrum disorder, are able to recall reliable information and receive appropriate treatment in court. She is credited for the development of Scottish Executive 2003 guidance on interviewing child witnesses and the 2005 code of practice for supporting child witnesses in court.
