Aspergillus fumigatus has become one of the most important fungal human pathogens in industrialized countries. It causes different diseases like allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, aspergilloma, and invasive aspergillosis depending on the underlying disease as well as the immunological status of the host. A. fumigatus is today one of the most threatening aerial fungal pathogens because nosocomially acquired invasive aspergillosis typically occurs in the treatment setting for hematological malignancy. With the increasing number of immuno-compromised individuals such as AIDS and cancer patients or transplant recipients, systemic Aspergillus infections are often life-threatening with a very high mortality rate even after anti-mycotic therapy. The last two decades have shown that the local microenvironment plays a pivotal role in cancer progression. Cancer is not the result of mutation events in single cells, but of a complex interplay of tumor cells, inflammatory cells, stem cells, growth factors, cytokines, chemokines and DNA-damaging agents. This book provides an up-to-date overview of how infections and chronic inflammatory conditions can give rise to the onset of a malignant phenotype, a theory that was originally postulated by Rudolf Virchow as early as 1863. Internationally recognized experts discuss novel aspects such as the role of stem cells and the occurrence of aneuploidy in carcinogenesis. Several examples of pathogens and their correlation with specific cancer types are described, e.g. Helicobacter pylori and gastric neoplasia, and schistosomiasis and bladder cancer. ​Ausgehend vom Musikvideo als Paradigma audiovisueller Kompositionalität, widmet sich der Band grundsätzlich relevanten Dimensionen der Transkription von Videodaten sowie insbesondere der Spezifik von Medienproduktanalysen. Im Fokus steht das neuentwickelte Analyseinstrument „trAVis“. Hierbei handelt es sich um ein musikzentriertes Transkriptionsprogramm für audiovisuelle Medienprodukte, das als frei zugängliche Web-Applikation konzipiert ist. Anhand einer umfassenden Fallanalyse wird aufgezeigt, dass „trAVis“ eine gegenstandsangemessene Analyse musikbasierter Audiovisionsformate ermöglicht. Forschungsstrategisch betrachtet, ist das Programm darauf angelegt, bildbezogene und texthermeneutische Ansätze mit musikwissenschaftlichen Zugängen zu verbinden.

Inhaltsangabe:Problemstellung: Seit Erziehung von staatlichen Institutionen und berufsmäßigen Erziehern und Erzieherinnen betrieben wird, stellt sich die Frage nach Professionalität und Professionalisierbarkeit pädagogischer Tätigkeiten. Der Stellenwert der sog. Professionalisierungsdebatte kann für die Pädagogik nicht hoch genug eingeschätzt werden, da es letztlich um die Legitimation und das Selbstverständnis einer wissenschaftlichen und praktischen Disziplin geht: Ist pädagogisches Handeln professionell (gemessen an welchen Standards?), professionalisierungsbedürftig bzw. ist es überhaupt professionalisierbar? Insbesondere in diffus institutionalisierten Bereichen mit relativ offener Aufgabenstruktur scheinen Konzepte der klassischen Professionen (wie etwa Klientenautonomie, wissenschaftlich fundierte Diagnoseverfahren, etc.) und die daran geknüpfte Ausbildung von Handlungsparadoxien nicht zu greifen. Die vorliegende Arbeit wird sich auf den Bereich der Offenen Jugendprojektarbeit konzentrieren, die - anders als die klassischen Professionen oder auch klarer strukturiertere Felder in der Pädagogik selbst (wie etwa die Schule) - ein klares Tätigkeits- und Aufgabenprofil vermissen lässt. „Wofür wirst du eigentlich bezahlt?“ - eine Frage, die Sozial- und Jugendarbeiter häufig zu hören zu bekommen, reflektiert den Umstand, dass ihre Tätigkeit sich nicht an klaren Zielen und Maßnahmen orientiert und sich häufig in der Lebenswelt des Klientels verliert. Pädagogisch tätig zu werden, kapriziert sich in solchen Zusammenhängen oft auf ‘natürliches’ Interagieren ohne klar umrissene und institutionell verbürgte Beteiligungsrollen. Um Kriterien für eine pädagogische Professionalität gerade in diesen Bereichen spezifizieren zu können, ist es deshalb nötig, die zwangsläufig auftretenden Paradoxien und deren Bewältigungsformen an empirischem Material zu beschreiben, d.h. mit dem Blick auf die konkrete pädagogische Alltagspraxis. Aus diesem Grund steht die Analyse pädagogischer Interaktionsprozesse im Vordergrund, die darüber Aufschluss geben soll, in welchen Widersprüchen sich Jugend(sozial)arbeiterinnen notwendigerweise bewegen und welche Ressourcen zur Verfügung stehen, diesen Problemen zu begegnen. Den Kern der vorliegenden Arbeit bilden somit detaillierte Analysen pädagogischer Gesprächsprozesse, deren Ziel es ist, die Entstehung, die Aushandlung, die Lösung oder Nicht - Lösung pädagogischer Probleme als intertaktive Leistung der Beteiligten zu begreifen. In der modernen Gesellschaft finden okkulte und satanistische Praktiken und Vorstellungen nach wie vor Akzeptanz in der Bevölkerung. Allerdings sind neben die bekannten Formen der geschlossenen Gruppenorganisationen (Loge, Orden) neue, offene Formen, die medien- und musikvermittelten Jugendszenen, getreten. Das Buch wendet sich in diesem Zusammenhang exemplarisch der deutschen "Gothic-Szene" zu und untersucht in synchroner Perspektive deren Gruppenstrukturen, typische Habitusformationen von Gruppenmitgliedern sowie die Passungskonstellationen und Integrationsdynamiken von Szene und Mitgliedern. Darüber hinaus werden typische Vergemeinschaftungsformen und Deutungsmuster, wie sie innerhalb der Kultur der Gothics vorherrschend sind, auf religionssoziologische Theorieentwicklungen bezogen.
