Hochschulen müssen sich verstärkt gegenüber Politik und Öffentlichkeit legitimieren. Dabei stehen sie sowohl im Wettbewerb miteinander als auch mit außeruniversitären Forschungs- und Bildungseinrichtungen. Entsprechend hat sich ihre Kommunikation nach innen und außen in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten erweitert und professionalisiert.
