Pendant dix ans Boris Pasternak travaille à son roman le plus connu - « Docteur Jivago ». Le texte du roman est complémenté par les poèmes du personnage principal du livre - Youri Andreevitch Jivago. Ces textes sont la quintessence du roman ; leurs sujets embrassent les thèmes de l'amour, de la solitude, de la vie, de la nature ; et ils atteignent le sommet poétique quand l'écrivain nous parle du Christ, de la Semaine Sainte, de la foi chrétienne, de ses lectures de l'Evangile. Boris Pasternak est devenu chrétien orthodoxe grâce à sa nounou Akoulina, et cette foi il gardait et développait toute sa vie en la manifestant dans ses oeuvres. Il connaissait par coeur les textes des offices orthodoxes et il les garda jusqu'à sa mort, écrits à la main, dans sa poche. Le roman « Docteur Jivago » après sa publication, fut utilisé par les services occidentaux et soviétiques comme instrument de propagande ou de contrepropagande. Hélas, le contenu poétique du roman et les poésies de Pasternak se perdaient dans les batailles politiques (ici nous voulons remarquer que son prix Nobel Pasternak devait recevoir grâce à son travail de poète et non comme auteur seulement du « Docteur Jivago »). Ici nous présentons la nouvelle traduction des poèmes du roman « Docteur Jivago », où nous avons essayé de garder l'intégrité du texte et des rimes de Pasternak sans même altérer les strophes et l'ordre des mots dans les phrases ; cela rapproche notre traduction à l'original et donne au lecteur la possibilité de lire Pasternak en toute plénitude.
