Wer über Gewalt und Trauma schreibt, muss auch über das schreiben, was als normativer Kern unangetastet bleibt: die menschliche Würde. Wer schreiberisch über das nachdenkt, was wahr ist, wer dabei vor allem über Gewalt nachdenkt und wie sie Menschen versehrt, muss auch über die Gewalt der Klimakrise sprechen: Welche Rolle spielt faktuales Erzählen beim Erzählen von Klimadiskursen? Für Emcke muss sich die Suche nach der Wahrheit im Angesicht der Klimakatastrophe in verschiedene Richtungen aufmachen. Nach rückwärts: Was ist geschehen und wer ist dafür verantwortlich? Aber auch nach vorwärts: Diese Suche nach der Wahrheit im Kontext der Klimakrise muss auch zeigen, was sein wird, sie muss Möglichkeitsräume öffnen und kartographieren. "Was wahr ist" ist ein Plädoyer für die Ethik des Erzählens und das Denken in Utopien.
