La « réhabilitation » est le terme qui désigne la rénovation et la protection historique de l'architecture afin de lui donner une nouvelle vie. C'est le fil conducteur de cette exposition collective qui suit une jeune génération d'artistes et comment ils confrontent et s'approprient cet héritage des concepts utopiques de l'architecture et du design modernes dans leur travail. Le bâtiment Blomme réhabilité, aujourd'hui Wiels, offre le contexte idéal pour mener un examen critique de la façon dont le modernisme est utilisé en architecture comme référence durable pour un groupe d'artistes qui a émergé après la soi-disant « mort » de l'architecture moderniste. L'exposition qui en résulte comprend des sculptures, des films, des collages, des modèles architecturaux et des installations.

Trein met vertraging begint wanneer een trein vanuit het station van Oostende naar Antwerpen-Centraal vertrekt. Lange tijd gaat alles goed: passagiers kijken naar buiten of naar elkaar, kaartjes worden geknipt, haltes worden bereikt. Maar de trein valt stil, en al snel stapelen de vragen, frustraties, problemen en aanvaringen zich op. Trein met vertraging is een tragikomisch verslag van een treinreis, opgebouwd uit ervaringen van reizigers die elk hun zorgen hebben. In de vaardige handen van Van Gerrewey wordt een simpele verplaatsing een symbool voor onze hysterische tijden, waarin niets nog echt lijkt te lukken en waarin de burger al te vaak vooral een ontevreden consument is.Christophe Van Gerrewey (1982) heeft geen rijbewijs en is een frequent gebruiker van het openbaar vervoer. Hij laat zich al jaren in bladen opmerken als een tegendraads en veelzijdig essayist en verhalenschrijver. In 2012 debuteerde hij met Op de hoogte, genomineerd voor de Bronzen Uil, de Academica Literatuurprijs en een Cutting Edge Award. Amper anderhalf jaar na dit lovend ontvangen debuut bevestigt hij dat hij een literair schrijver pur sang is.

The activities of Rem Koolhaas and his staff were widely discussed even before the foundation of the Office for Metropolitan Architecture in 1975.
