Come è noto, la fenomenologia ha conosciuto in Francia un importantissimo sviluppo nella seconda metà del XX secolo, fino al punto da poter parlare di una «passione fenomenologica francese». D’altronde è importante ricordare che Husserl in Francia si è presentato già dal 1929 tenendo alla Sorbona le due conferenze che saranno poi pubblicate con il titolo Méditations cartésiennes. Da quel momento, diverse generazioni di pensatori francesi, formati a quella che Paul Ricœur ha definito la «scuola della fenomenologia», hanno saputo svilupparne i temi e il metodo in molteplici direzioni, spingendoli in certi casi anche al di là del compito che Husserl le attribuiva. Questo volume raccoglie i contributi di diversi studiosi coinvolti nei convegni di un progetto di ricerca di interesse nazionale dedicato alla fenomenologia francese, con l’obiettivo di fare il punto sulla situazione attuale di questa corrente, sulla sua eredità e sulle principali aperture, nonché sulle ricadute di questa impostazione di lavoro nell’ambito della filosofia italiana.

In Aristotle's Ethics as First Philosophy, Claudia Baracchi demonstrates the indissoluble links between practical and theoretical wisdom in Aristotle's thinking. Referring to a broad range of texts from the Aristotelian corpus, Baracchi shows how the theoretical is always informed by a set of practices, and, specifically, how one's encounter with phenomena, the world, or nature in the broadest sense, is always a matter of ethos.
