Sie studierte Creative Writing in Memphis und schrieb während ihres Studiums für verschiedene Literaturzeitschriften. Heute unterrichtet Courtney Miller Santo selbst Creative Writing. Sie ist seit 1999 mit ihrer Jugendliebe verheiratet, und die beiden haben zwei Kinder, einen Hund und einen sehr kleinen Olivenbaum. 'Der Olivenhain' ist ihr Debüt.
