The "Glossary & Index of Terms, now brought up to date with the data of volume nine of the main work (1997, 920 pages), deals with the terms in Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Urdu and other languages or dialects of the Islamic world. Especially the listing of terms which are not given as a headword in "The Encyclopaedia itself, but are discussed in the course of an article - and consequently hard to be found - will be of value to scholars and non-specialists alike.
