This book contains selected papers presented at the 14th IFIP WG 9.2, 9.6/11.7, 11.6/SIG 9.2.2 International Summer School on Privacy and Identity Management, held in Windisch, Switzerland, in August 2019. The 22 full papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 31 submissions. Also included are reviewed papers summarizing the results of workshops and tutorials that were held at the Summer School as well as papers contributed by several of the invited speakers. The papers combine interdisciplinary approaches to bring together a host of perspectives, which are reflected in the topical sections: language and privacy; law, ethics and AI; biometrics and privacy; tools supporting data protection compliance; privacy classification and security assessment; privacy enhancing technologies in specific contexts. The chapters "What Does Your Gaze Reveal About You? On the Privacy Implications of Eye Tracking" and "Privacy Implications of Voice and Speech Analysis - Information Disclosure by Inference" are open access under a CC BY 4.0 license at link.springer.com.

De digitalisering van onze samenleving werkt door in nieuwe vormen van criminaliteit, overkoepelend aangeduid als cybercrime. Wat weten we echter over daders, slachtoffers en verschillende vormen van computercriminaliteit? In dit Cahier belichten Nederlandse en Belgische experten het thema politie en cybercrime. De auteurs gaan vervolgens in op belangrijke actuele vraagstukken. Dit alles gebaseerd op eigen praktijk en resultaten van recent (internationaal) onderzoek. Het biedt een waaier aan interessante kennis rond het fenomeen politie en cybercrime, en belicht het uit verschillende hoeken. Het is kortom van groot belang voor politie, justitie en iedereen die instaat voor de preventie en opsporing van cybercriminaliteit. De Cahiers Politiestudies verschijnen trimestrieel. Since the Snowden revelations, the adoption in May 2016 of the General Data Protection Regulation and several ground-breaking judgments of the Court of Justice of the European Union, data protection and privacy are high on the agenda of policymakers, industries and the legal research community. Against this backdrop, Data Protection and Privacy under Pressure sheds light on key developments where individuals’ rights to data protection and privacy are at stake. The book discusses the persistent transatlantic tensions around various EU-US data transfer mechanisms and EU jurisdiction claims over non-EU-based companies, both sparked by milestone court cases. Additionally, it scrutinises the expanding control or surveillance mechanisms and interconnection of databases in the areas of migration control, internal security and law enforcement, and oversight thereon.
