This tells the story of Gabriel's family in the suburbs of Chicago, where they chose to live when they immigrated to America. This highly motivated couple had six children, all equally smart in different ways. Their children also inherited their good looks and sense of humor. Gabriel and his wife worked very hard and made many sacrifices to do what was good for their kids. The only thing missing in this family was the physical part of the couple's relationship. After all these years of marriage, with the kids growing up, the relationship was falling apart. That's why I decided to share my story to help others, and if I can help just one person who reads this, then it will make writing this book worth it.

A noção de amor sempre esteve presente na história da civilização. A música, a literatura, a pintura, a escultura, o cinema, a televisão entre outros, têm assinalado a questão do amor sob diversos ângulos e modos de apresentação. Tendo por base o texto O Banquete, no primeiro ensaio que apresento “Do eros platônico e do eros moderno – uma perspectiva simmeliana”, apresento e analiso, sem intenção de esgotar o assunto, a construção social da noção de eros platônico em espaço de lazer, tendo como elemento discursivo e de sociação, o diálogo; bem como, traço semelhanças e diferenças entre o eros platônico e o eros moderno, numa perspectiva simmeliana. Envelhecimento e Velhices, Perda e Solidão, Espaço e Memória, bem como, Memória e Ressentimentos, são categorias trabalhadas, numa abordagem da sócioantropologia dos afetos, no segundo ensaio intitulado “Velhices, memória e ressentimentos – notas sócioafetivas a partir do filme ‘Morangos Silvestres’”. Qual a configuração social e política onde nasceu o gênio da música universal? Que elementos contribuíram para a formação prodigiosa de Mozart e sua inserção no mundo da música? Em que sentido a genialidade de Mozart o levou a sentir-se e a viver como um outsider na sociedade de corte do século XIX? Que elementos psicológicos – um tanto obscuros para a época – podem ser pinçados e interpretados do músico prodígio, são algumas questões que nortearão a tessitura do terceiro ensaio “Mozart: a condição sóciopsicológica de um gênio na configuração de uma sociedade em transformação”. Para tanto, recorri aos textos do sociólogo Norbert Elias e do historiador e biógrafo Peter Gay, como principais; além do conteúdo fílmico utilizado como recurso auxiliar para ilustração da proposta. Tantas leituras e análises podem ser feitas das categorias aqui trabalhadas, como ensaio-tessitura, não se pretende conclusivo. Sem nós que nos sufoquem, apenas laços que nos envolvam suavemente e que nos deixem livres para outras leituras.
