The fine jeweler Chaumet, established in 1780, is one of the crown jewels of Place Vendôme. Following the release of a first slipcase set of Mémoire volumes, Assouline introduces a second set on the themes of Fêtes, the Arts, and Photography, seen through the lens of more than two centuries of history and the evolution of Chaumet's artistic creations: Photography: Chaumet has kept meticulous records of its creations, and in the late 1800s, Joseph Chaumet established an in-house photographic studio to immortalize each jewel. From large-format glass plates to cutting-edge digital, the history of photography is reflected in the house's extensive archives. Arts: A high-jewelry atelier is akin to symphony, a fine sculpture, or an epic poem, and the successive maestros and virtuoso artisans of the Chaumet atelier have composed symphonies of artistic jewels to express new emotions through innovative styles, themes, and colors. Robert Doisneau (Gentilly, 1912 - Montrouge, 1994) is regarded as one of the founding fathers of French humanist photography and street photojournalism.0Through his lens he was able to grasp the daily life of the men and women who populate Paris and its suburbs, presenting the city and its inhabitants with an ironic and light touch, but also with deep humanity and participation.0The volume collects 130 black and white silver salt prints from the Atelier Robert Doisneau in Montrouge, which houses his photographic archive. Whether they are photographs made on commission or the result of his wanderings in Paris, the artist's personal style is outlined through these shots, which mixes charm and imagination, but also a freedom of expression not far from surrealism. These pictures capture moments of daily happiness among ordinary people - such as the famous Le Baiser de l'Hotel de Ville, or "The kiss" - in which tenderness, sometimes veiled with melancholy, but also ever-present notes of humour are mixed.00Exhibition: Palazzo Roverella, Rovigo, Italy (23.09.2021 - 30.01.2022).

What happens in amusement parks when the lights go out? What happens at children's playgrounds at night? A desolate quiet takes over the spaces where, when the sun shines, children play and adults relax. With his latest photo series, Night Games, Stefano Cerio (*1962) does more than simply continue his 2015 series Chinese Fun. He links them both through a process used in 2011 while photographing his series Night Ski. With the absence of natural light during nighttime, he made a virtue out of necessity by employing artificial lighting. By doing so, he could achieve sculptural, even haptic qualities in his images. The results are uncanny, fascinating views of carnival rides, slides, and carousels that one usually never sees, although here, they are always close at hand.Exhibition: Galleria del Cembalo, Rome 4.5.-8.7.2017
