Depuis la création des Belles-Soeurs en 1968, qui allait bouleverser le paysage théâtral québécois, Michel Tremblay n'a fait que confirmer son statut d'écrivain majeur, tant au Québec qu'à l'étranger. Auteur de plus de trente pièces, il a imbriqué au Cycle des Belles-Soeurs un univers romanesque foisonnant : les " Chroniques du Plateau Mont-Royal ".
