El Black feminism, como desarrollo teórico y posición política, fue una de las primeras corrientes feministas que . invitó a entender y percibir el racismo como una cuestión feminista y que analizó la injusticia social como resultado del trabajo conjunto de distintas formas de opresión. En las conferencias reunidas en este volumen, Angela Davis y Gina Dent nos invitan a pensar en la importancia de organizar luchas colectivas alrededor de objetivos políticos, y no exclusivamente en torno a un atributo identitario.Nueve años después del encuentro que dio lugar a esta publicación, queremos compartir el testimonio de una experiencia que erosionó las fronteras entre lo académico y lo militante, y renovó el sentido de nuestras perspectivas intelectuales, políticas y éticas. Esta es también una oportunidad para emprender un análisis alrededor del movimiento de mujeres afrocolombianas, negras, raizales y palenqueras en Colombia.
