JOURNALING WITH SASS & STEAM Note from Author/Designer Emma Alisyn: I began my love of journaling as a desire to break away from the strain of hours at the laptop. Reading digitally all the time, I've missed the touch and smell of old-fashioned paper. As an author, I've missed the sensory pleasure of holding a well-sharpened pencil in my hand, or a beautifully crafted ink pen, and pressing the point against paper and watching as words come to life. I discovered adult coloring books first, then bullet journaling, and began transferring all my household management (recipes, grocery lists, budgets, chore charts) to journals. And now I'm hooked. The real pleasure outside of their practical use and customizable nature, is the covers. I adore the covers. All kinds of covers. Dragons, flowers and nature. Fantasy scenes and naughty sayings. I might be weird, but I enjoy looking at the covers as much as anything else. So I decided to design my own journals inspired by some of my urban fantasy dragon novels for readers who enjoy that kind of thing and still love to journal, but still elegant enough that anyone can pick up a copy.
