About
He was born in Madrid. He studied in the faculties of Philology and Documentation Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid and in the Law of the National University of Distance Education, without graduating. He began his journalistic career at El Confidencial Digital, where he served as a political correspondent.1 From there he went on to direct the culture section of La Gaceta de los Negocios. He has also collaborated with Spanish and Latin American newspapers such as El País, El Nacional, El Mundo, El Nuevo Siglo, ABC, La Vanguardia, La Razón and El Español, with Agencia EFE and with magazines both Spanish and from other countries, including Ínsula, Leer, Vanity Fair, Esquire, Clarín and National Geographic. For this work, in 2018 he was awarded the FIES journalism award. He directed the opinion pages of The Objective, a newspaper of which he was founding editor.
From 2011 to 2017 he worked at the Moncloa Palace as a speechwriter for Mariano Rajoy, the president of the Spanish government.
From 20171 until 2022 he directed the Cervantes Institute in London. Since 2022, he has directed the one in Rome.
