The whole series of "Multiples & Editions" realized by Guillaume Bijl corresponds to his installations of a certain period: posters, small compositions, some "Sorry's", tableaux vivants or projects. Often, these multiples were created as an annex of temporary installations, or with the motivation to help non-profit organizations, or to cover the costs of installations in galleries. After 40 years of practice, the Antwerp Academy was able to trace back about 80 pieces. In February 2021 the Antwerp Academy is exhibiting these multiples & editions and they are being published in a comprehensive book by publishing house Walther & Franz König.The texts of David Vermeiren and Johan Pas put these multiples & editions in context and reflect about all aspects of Guillaume Bijl's oeuvre. Ce livre propose une rencontre inédite entre deux peintres belges majeurs de l'après-guerre: Walter Leblanc (1932-1986) et Jef Verheyen (1932-1984). Issus de la génération anversoise de G58 et proches du mouvement international ZERO, tous deux ont poussé la peinture au-delà de ses limites. Avec l'anti-peinture, Leblanc a conquis l'espace et le mouvement. Par ses monochromes qui sensibilisent, Verheyen entendait stimuler l'intériorité des spectateurs. Trop tôt disparus, ils ont consacré leur vie à l'espace et à la lumière. This is the first complete overview of Bervoets' unique pictorial graphic works, from 1990 until the present. Fred Bervoets, a member of the art collective "De Zwarte Panter" ("The Black Panther") is considered to be one of Belgium's most important painters. Since the early nineties, Bervoets' oeuvre has undergone a strong moderation, expressed in huge etchings. These are made in a "wrong" etching technique that was invented by Bervoets: he does not use an etching bath, but scratches the drawing immediately on a sink plate. Johan Pas is an art historian and expert of the works of Fred Bervoets. He teaches at the "Royal Academy of Arts" in Antwerp, organises exhibitions and writes about the different aspects of contemporary art.
