Kisner is a contributing writer for The Atlantic and the New York Times Magazine. She also writes essays, features, and reviews for n+1, The New York Times Magazine, Harper’s Magazine, The Guardian, The Believer, and others. She writes a column for The Paris Review. Her first book, Thin Places, was one of NPR’s “best books of 2020.”
