Taking an interdisciplinary approach, this volume provides a theoretical overview of how business ethics deals with the phenomenon of globalization. The authors examine both the origins and development of globalization and its interaction with business ethics, before discussing the impact on national and multinational corporations and the role they play.

Ökonomie und Ökonomik haben in der praktischen Philosophie der Gegenwart keine systematische Bedeutung: Am einen Ende des Spektrums schlicht ignoriert, werden am anderen Ende das System der Marktwirtschaft und die neoklassische ökonomische Theorie einer grundlegenden normativen Kritik unterzogen. Der Autor argumentiert, dass trotz gravierender Defizite in der Empirie die Marktwirtschaft unverzichtbar für das Glück der Menschen, Eudaimonia, ist und dass die ökonomische Theorie für unser Verständnis von Politik und Moral und damit der modernen Gesellschaft paradigmatische Bedeutung hat.
