Podjęta w opracowaniu tematyka odpowiedzialności kontraktowej należy do najbardziej doniosłych teoretycznie i praktycznie zagadnień prawnych, niezwykle rozległych oraz charakteryzujących się dużą zmiennością. Obecnie owa niestałość jest szczególnie odczuwalna. Pojęcie zobowiązania gospodarczego w czasie epidemii nabiera bowiem wyjątkowego znaczenia. Publikacja powstała jako rezultat współdziałania grupy pracowników naukowych, których można określić mianem „prawników na uczelniach ekonomicznych”. Opracowanie zyskuje dzięki temu charakter interdyscyplinarny, silnie czerpiąc z idei nurtu ekonomicznej analizy prawa.
