We are delighted to introduce the proceedings of the first edition of the 2019 International Conference on Advances in Education, Humanities, and Language (ICEL). The aim of ICEL (International Conference on Advances in Humanities, Education and Language) is to provide a platform for researchers, professionals, academicians as well as industrial professionals from all over the world to present their research results and development activities in Education, humanities, and Language. The theme of ICEL 2019 was “Mainstreaming the Influences on Higher Order of Thinking Skills in Humanities, Education, and Language in Industrial Revolution 4.0”. The technical program of ICEL 2019 consisted of 77 full papers, including invited papers in oral presentation sessions at the main conference tracks. Aside from the high quality technical paper presentations, the technical program also featured six keynote speeches, Hamamah, Ph.D (Univeritas Brawijaya, Indonesia), Prof. Dr. Nuraihan binti Mat Daud (UIIM, Malaysia), Dr. Edith Dunn (Conservator/Cultural Specialist, USA), Prof. Yoshihiko -Sugimura (university of Mizaki, Japan), Prof. Park Yoonho (Sunchon National University, Korea) and Prof. Su Keh Bow (Soochow University, Taiwan). We strongly believe that ICEL conference provides a good forum for all researchers, developers and practitioners to discuss various advances that are relevant to education, humanities, and language. We also expect that the future ICEL conference will be as successful and stimulating, as indicated by the contributions presented in this volume

The advance technological development has led to the revolution on the way people communicating. People, things, and systems now are all connected in cyberspace and optimal results obtained by artificial intelligence (AI) exceeding the capabilities of humans fed back to physical space. This process brings new value to industry and society in ways not possible previously. To explore and examine it, the proceedings comprise themes (1) communication industry and beyond that focused on the concept of personalization to the next level of “mass personalization” in the communication fields, (2) social cultural and its implications that explore communities based on interest, religion, or shared identify to achieve a forward-looking society whose members have mutual respect for each other, transcending the generations, and lead an active and enjoyable life, (3) the digitization of content that focuses on the process of converting information into a digital format where the big data becomes the central of this area that make easier to preserve, access, and share information to people worldwide, but implied by the competencies and ethics, (4) governance; politics and good public governance that explore the way public control others and participate to all governance-related activities for encouraging transparency and public accountability politics and democracy, (5) entrepreneurship that focuses on the endorsement of technological-based innovation that give opportunity to create and develop an initiative effected to society, from a scale up start-up to a global level or become a social entrepreneur using the technology as a place to break a social change, and (6) special issues exploring interests in global, regional, national, and local level.

We are delighted to introduce the proceedings of the 2nd Konferensi BIPA Tahunan (Ke-BIPA-an) conducted by Postgraduate Program of Javanese Literature and Language Education in collaboration with Association of Indonesian Language and Literature Lecturers (Asosiasi Dosen Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia/ADOBSI). The technical program of the 2nd KEBIPAAN 2020 consisted of 56 articles. The scopes of the conference were Indonesian language for foreign speaker’s needs, curriculum development, learning strategies, evaluations, contribution of language, literature, and cultural. Aside from the high quality technical paper presentations, the technical program also featured three keynote speakers as invited talk and technical workshops. The five keynote speakers were Liliana Muliastuti, Petra Adamkove, Muhammad Rohmadi, Ku Ares Tawandorloh, and Kundharu Saddhono. The 2nd KEBIPAAN 2019 workshop aimed to address the new dimension of analyzed Indonesian language for foreign speakers needs, curriculum development, learning strategies, evaluations, contribution of language, literature, and cultural in the critical thinking through academic writing methodologies and approaches. Moreover, the workshop aimed to gain insights key challenges, understanding, and design criteria of employing technologies to improve cultural services and applications. Coordination with the steering chairs was the key for the success of the workshop. We sincerely appreciate their constant support and guidance. It was also a great pleasure to work with such excellent committee for the hard work in organizing and supporting the conference. In particular, the Technical Program Committee have completed the peer-review process of technical papers and made a high-quality technical program. We are also grateful to all team for the hard and smart work in supporting the event and to all authors who submitted their papers in the 2nd KEBIPAAN 2019 and conference. We strongly believe that 2nd KEBIPAAN 2019 conference provides a good forum for all researcher, developers, lecturers, teachers, students, and practitioners to discuss all science and technology aspects that are relevant to culture, environment, education, science, and technology issues. We also expect that the future Kebipaan conferences will be successful event as indicated by the contributions presented in this volume.

This proceeding contains selected papers of The International Seminar On Recent Language, Literature, And Local Culture Studies “Kajian Mutakhir Bahasa, Sastra, Dan Budaya Daerah (BASA)” held on 20-21 September 2019 in Solo, Indonesia. The conference which was organized by Sastra Daerah, Faculty of Cultural Sciences Universitas Sebelas Maret and Culture Studies Postgraduate Program of Universitas Sebelas Maret. The conference accommodates topics for linguistics in general including issues in language, literature, local cultural studies, philology, folklore, oral literature, history, art, education, etc. Selecting and reviewing process for the The International Seminar On Recent Language, Literature, And Local Culture Studies “Kajian Mutakhir Bahasa, Sastra, dan Budaya Daerah” was very challenging in that it needs a goodwill of those who were involved in such a process. More than ten experts were invited in reviewing, giving suggestions for revision and at last selecting the papers. On that account, we would like to forward our appreciation and our gratefulness to such invited experts for having done the process. The committee received more than 180 papers from the participants and based on the results of the review, only 141 papers were declared fit to be presented at the seminar and subsequently published in the proceedings of BASA#3-2019 Papers in the proceeding are expected to give academic benefits, especially in broadening the horizon of our understanding in language, literature, and local culture studies. We realize that what we are presenting for the publication is till far for being perfect. Constructive criticism is very much welcome for improvement. Finally, the committees thank for the participation and congratulate for the publication of the papers in the proceedings of BASA#3-2019. The committees also thank all those who have supported and actively participated for the success of this event. Hopefully these Proceedings can be used as references in developing technology and improving learning activities in the fields of education, social, arts and humanities.

As an annual event, International Conference on Language, Literature, and Education in Digital Era (ICLLE) 2019 continued the agenda to bring together researcher, academics, experts and professionals in examining selected theme by language, literature and education in digital era. In 2019, this event held in 19-20 July 2019 at Padang, Indonesia. The conference from any kind of stakeholders related with Language and literature especially in education. Each contributed paper was refereed before being accepted for publication. The double-blind peer reviewed was used in the paper selection.
