This book offers new perspectives on global phenomena that play a major role in today’s society and deeply shape the actions of individuals, organizations and nations. In a complex and rapidly changing environment, decision-makers need to gain a better understanding of global phenomena to adapt and to anticipate the evolution of the global context. The authors—ten renowned international scholars of anthropology, economics, law, management and political science—propose an interdisciplinary and comparative approach to social sciences. They analyse how international phenomena, such as globalisation or transnationalisation, transform the disciplines of social sciences from an epistemological standpoint. Un nouveau spectre hante les esprits: la mondialisation. Celle de l'économie est en cours mais plus redoutée est celle des cultures, des sociétés et des identités qu'il faudrait protéger contre la vague uniformisante qui déferle sur le monde. L'image a le mérite de la simplicité mais sa pertinence suppose d'être examinée plus avant. C'est ce doute qui fut au cœur d'un colloque qui s'était donné pour tâche de scruter les processus de mondialisation à la lumière des arts. Bien mieux qu'un baromètre indiquant en temps réel la fluctuation des valeurs, l'art est une surface sensible aux forces et aux mouvements virtuels qui font le monde. Par sa localisation géographique, historique, culturelle et politique, le Maghreb, diasporas comprises, offre un remarquable observatoire et laboratoire des transformations en cours. D'où le choix d'interroger les incidences et les résistances des pratiques artistiques dans le contexte transculturel de cette région. Ce qui survient est de l'ordre des incidences, que les artistes ont d'abord vocation à déclarer dans leurs œuvres, qui traduisent également des résistances, moins défensives que créatrices et moins enracinées que construites selon des stratégies d'alliance, de mixage et d'hybridation.
