Lovecraft Howard Phillips

"The Call of Cthulhu" is one of H. P. Lovecraft's best-known short stories. Written in the summer of 1926, it was first published in Weird Tales, February 1928. It is the only story written by Lovecraft in which the extraterrestrial entity Cthulhu himself makes a major appearance.

The Call of Cthulhu

The story (which is based on the diaries of its protagonist) is set in Providence, Rhode Island, Lovecraft's hometown and a favourite locale for his fiction. The protagonist, Robert Blake - a young man with an interest in the occult (he is a writer of weird stories and a painter of fantastic paintings) - becomes fascinated by a large disused church set on Federal Hill in Providence's west - the Italian and migrant quarter - which he can see from his lodgings in Providence's Upper East side. His researches reveal that the church has a sinister history involving a cult called the Church of Starry Wisdom and is dreaded by the local inhabitants as being haunted by a primeval evil.

The Haunter of the Dark

The story consists of two main narratives linked by a third, the voice of "author." Only the author is able to interpret correctly what happened and is aware of the importance of information you have in your power, and is narrating the order in which he was discovering the truth. It begins with the death of an eminent professor at Miskatonic University and the study of the documents with which he was working. These include a report on an attack perpetrated by a cult. An investigation into the members of the sect brings to light some clues about the hideous creature who worship, Cthulhu.

"The Colour Out of Space" is a science fiction/horror short story by American author H. P. Lovecraft, written in March 1927. In the tale, an unnamed narrator pieces together the story of an area known by the locals as the "blasted heath" in the wild hills west of Arkham, Massachusetts. The narrator discovers that many years ago a meteorite crashed there, poisoning every living being nearby; vegetation grows large but foul tasting, animals are driven mad and deformed into grotesque shapes, and the people go insane or die one by one.

Herbert West: Reanimator is a horror story in six chapters written by HP Lovecraft in 1922. The second chapter, The demon of the plague was originally published in a journal of the time as short story autoconclusivo, but was later followed by other chapters , which explains that each is an individual story about the adventures of the protagonist. The story recounts the results of the research of Dr. Herbert West over death and resuscitation of bodies, from his student days in the fictional Miskatonic University until shortly after the First World War.

It is the first-person story of a geologist at the University of Miskatonic, which performs an expedition to Antarctica with a team of specialists. Survivor recounts how the project began, as with a large team of airplanes, in principle sleds and everything necessary for the project to come to fruition; everything becomes disgraced by a reconnaissance flight where they encounter an impressive dark mountains full of evil. The first group decides to explore disappears under strange circumstances and after several attempts of localization, the expedition decides to move to full place and investigate what happened on that fateful place.
