The Bhagavad Gita (or "Song of God") is one of the richest, most complete, and most important spiritual works ever composed. Its teachings have been a timeless source of inspiration, wisdom, and guidance for over a thousand years. The Gita (as it is affectionately known) is laid out as the story of a regular person, Arjuna, who has become despondent after coming to see life as a meaningless, pointless, and never-ending struggle. I designed my version of this enduring classic to be concise, modern, and accessible to all readers, even those with no prior knowledge of Hindu philosophy. The Emerald Tablet is purported to be a fourteen step instruction manual for the Alchemical process of turning ordinary metals like lead into something much more valuable, like gold. If you can decipher the meaning, that is. Over the centuries, many have tried.I believe the fourteen statements of the Emerald Tablet to be a symbolic guide to a far greater treasure...Legend has it that this guide was written by Hermes Trismegistus, an ancient Egyptian philosopher whose discoveries were said to have transformed him, through knowledge of this world, into a god among men, so to speak. The Egyptians thought so highly of him that they equated him with their god Thoth (see front cover) and the Greeks, in similar fashion, equated him with ther god Mercury. What is the goal of the Emerald Tablet, as transmitted to us by Hermes through the fourteen cryptic statements? To tranform those of us who can decipher its meaning into a higher level of human consciousness. The Emerald Tablet 101

The Kybalion is probably the most controversial spiritual work of the twentieth century. Its teachings are based on the works of Hermes, an ancient Egyptian philosopher. Like Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad, Socrates and a few other philosophical and religious founders, Hermes is said to have received his knowledge in a vision during a period of deep concentration. During his "awakening", Hermes claimed to have been exposed to the truth of the world, how it works, and what lies beyond. He believed that he had experienced "the Soul of the Universe". The Kybalion is a categorization and explanation of the seven main laws of life, as expressed to Hermes during his vision. Legend has it that these laws have been passed down in secret for centuries from teacher to students considered ready for the information, much like Jesus's passing on of inner knowledge only to his closest disciples. The initial publishing of The Kybalion by "The Three Initiates" is reported to be the first time the general public has had access to these inner teachings.The seven laws of The Kybalion will sound familiar to many, for they are the underlying themes of this existence. But learning the exact significance and meaning of these laws has been a closely guarded secret for millennia.
