In this book, there are many poems that give that food for thought, for consideration and debate, but I have added a humorous bent on much of the material, for as in my case at least, humour is a good, strong tool in dealing in many cases of diversity. As for the rest of the book, well, it's a mixture really with funny poems, well, just for a sake of a laugh.

Here are 48 lute compositions from the Renaissance by Antonio Rotta, (1495-1549) who was an Italian lutenist, composer and music teacher of the Renaissance period in Padua which was part of the Republic of Venice and renowned for its university. Canon Scardeonius of Padua wrote in 1560 that Rotta was not only virtually unrivaled in Italy as a lutenist, but was also an excellent teacher and had grown quite rich by giving lessons on the lute.

Most are also playable on the soprano and tenor ukulele. The re-entrant tuning of the ukulele does not detract at all from what would otherwise be a faithful rendition of these compositions. Most of the pieces sound just fine and, in fact, while testing each piece for playability and checking for mistakes, I had both my tenor and baritone ukuleles close by my side. The music ranges from fairly easy to intermediate skill levels. I encourage you to experiment with the ornamentation and make these pieces your own. Have fun!
