While reproduction is fairly often touched upon in theological and Christian ethical discussions, reproductive health is not. However, reproductive health is a matter of theological and ethical concern. Discussion pertaining to reproductive health includes a number of debates about, for instance, abortion and the termination of pregnancy, reproductive loss, childlessness, infertility, stillbirth, miscarriage and adoption. Additionally, new reproductive possibilities made available by the development of reproductive technology have necessitated theological and ethical reflection on, for example, surrogacy, post-menopausal pregnancies, litter births, single mothers or fathers by choice, in vitro fertilisation and the so-called saviour siblings. These new developments compel us to reconceive our notions of what reproductive health is or should be. Many of these topics are receiving increasing attention in a variety of theological publications. The focus of this volume is unique, however, and to the best of our knowledge, this is the first volume dealing not only with reproductive issues, but also reflecting theologically and ethically on reproductive health. It makes a contribution by providing a variety of perspectives from different theological fields on this theme, and in many chapters, focussing especially on the South African context. These discussions are also part of urgent debates within churches, which require developing life-giving theological language and imaginative theological alternatives that may speak to experiences of matters relating to reproductive health. The popular books, TV series and films that touch upon these discussions  including The Handmaids Tale and Mother!  strengthen the perception that a more in-depth theological and ethical discussion on the theme may be necessary, particularly towards exploring stories and confessions from our faith tradition that may provide us with a timely opportunity to do the important work of theological reconceiving.

Das Werk richtet sich damit an alle, die im Projektmanagement von Erneuerbaren Energien tätig sind und die mit den internationalen Dimensionen der Branche befasst sind.

To honour his 65th birthday, colleages and pupils have chosen 5 themes on coptology. The first is concerned with coptic art, archaeology and inscriptions. The second chapter shows some aspects of theology and church history. The third theme is concerned with the history of religions. The book also includes 6 articles on various linguistic aspects of coptic. A last chapter deals with some coptic manuscripts and editions in the field of theology and history of religions.

Master's Thesis from the year 1999 in the subject Law - Philosophy, History and Sociology of Law, grade: A-, UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN LAW SCHOOL, 88 entries in the bibliography, language: English, abstract: The procedural understanding of constitutional provisions has undergone a remarkable development over the last decades. Beginning with a footnote by Justice Stone in Carolene Products, procedure was found to be the appropriate basis for judicial review and made its way into public choice theory. One of the more recent contributions is Professor Habermas's discourse theory as philosophical response to the emergence of pluralist "lifeworlds" within modern Occidental communities. Whereas the academic awareness of procedural issues seems to have progressed from quite specific legal questions to general philosophical problems, I would like to address them from the reverse perspective. What does philosophy have to say about constitutional interpretation? More specifically, what are the implications of Habermas's "discourse theory" for the understanding of takings? To answer these issues, Part I presents discourse theory as an alternative legal concept to natural law and legal positivism as applied by the American and German constitutional courts in the context of takings. In Part II, I shall claim that the discoursive approach can help to promote a procedural understanding of the Just Compensation Clause. Part III, finally, uses the philosophical background of discourse theory to test procedural recommendations of public choice theory.
