Jsou to světy, kde se neustále vyvíjejí odlišné rasy, které ovšem mnohdy prožívají podobné pocity jako představitelé lidského světa. A i když si tyto představy zdají fantastické a zcela mimo okruh reálného uvažování, přesto je autor hluboce přesvědčen, že v dalekých a neprobádaných prostorách se planety se svébytnými civilizacemi a kulturami nacházejí - a jsou obydleny mimozemskými tvory, kteří přes všechny rozdíly "mají s námi mnoho společného, i když jsou často stvořeni z jiné podstaty než my."
