She is Mexican-American and has produced multiple novels such as Faultline (1982), Spring Forward/Fall Back (1985), Southbound (1990), and Coachella (1998). Sheila Ortiz Taylor started writing poetry in middle school inspired by her family’s love for art and expressionism.
