Der Umgang mit sexualisierter Gewalt in kirchlichen Kontexten ist unzureichend. Zwar wurden Maßnahmen zur Intervention und Prävention unternommen, spezifische kirchliche und theologische Ermöglichungsbedingungen sind aber noch zu wenig beachtet worden. Bisher fehlen interdisziplinäre und interkonfessionelle Studien zum Problem des Vorfeldes sexualisierter Gewalt in kirchlichen Kontexten. Dabei geht es um Theologien und Strukturen, die in ihrer Ambivalenz einen Bezug zur sexualisierten Gewalt aufweisen und Reaktionspflichten hemmen. Diese Blickbegrenzung soll im Gespräch zwischen verschiedenen theologischen Fächern (Bibelwissenschaften, Ethik, Pastoral- und Religionspsychologie) und anderen relevanten Disziplinen (Geschichtswissenschaften, Psychologie, Kriminologie) überwunden werden, um ein kritisches Denken und Handeln in Theologie und Kirche im Bewusstsein der Persistenz spezifischer Formen sexualisierter Gewalt und etablierter Reaktionsformen zu entwickeln. Gemeinsames Ergebnis der einzelnen Studien dieses Bandes ist, dass die Berücksichtigung der Erfahrung sexualisierter Gewalt im Kontext kirchlicher Institutionen die Akzeptanz zugrundeliegender theologischer und seelsorglicher Annahmen ändert.

Excavations at the early Iron age site of Khirbet Qeiyafa (Israel), directed from 2007 to 2011 by Yosef Garfinkel and Saar Ganor under the auspices of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Israel Antiquities Authority, have attracted considerable scholarly and media attention since the very first season, when the discovery of an inscribed ostracon sparked controversies over the site's historical significance and nature. Located at the entrance of the Elah Valley, protected by a casemate wall and two monumental gateways, the settlement of Qeiyafa existed for barely half a century. Its dating and the correlation of the archaeological evidence with the regional history, not least the rise of an early Judahite monarchy, have become matters of intense academic debate. Resulting from a colloquium of the Swiss Society of Ancient Near Eastern Studies, this volume offers a condensed report by main excavator Yosef Garfinkel as well as several in-depth studies on archaeological, historical, epigraphical, iconographical and biblical issues.

Since its origins in the women's liberation movement, feminist exegesis has been subject not only to the demand to identify the oppressive functions of biblical texts but also to contribute to the liberation of women. What biblical texts can serve this process of liberation-for which women, under what conditions, and in what manner? What roles do categories such as woman, gender, liberation, freedom, Holy Scripture, church, and theology play? This book originated from a symposium with feminist biblical experts from over twenty countries from five continents. It provides a striking and imaginative depiction of the questions central to feminist exegesis and the hermeneutics of liberation. It also provides a lively example of the kind of global discussion of the Bible and liberation that can take place among women from around the world. Typical of this discussion is the confrontation with questions such as contextuality or the diversity of feminist biblical interpretation (whether of theological or non-theological nature), and clear positions are taken with regard to issues such as the termination of anti-Judaism in feminist biblical interpretation or the dangers of neo-colonial domination in feminist-theological studies.
