The contributors to this collection of essays, written for the Feminist Theological Hermeneutics Group of the Society of Biblical Literature, use feminist reading strategies and methods for the interpretation of the Bible. Recognizing that the interpretation of texts is always done from a particular point of view and for particular interests, the various writers explore the meanings and effects of their social positions as feminist biblical scholars.
