This volume represents the proceedings of the 2013 International Conference on Innovation, Communication and Engineering (ICICE 2013). This conference was organized by the China University of Petroleum (Huadong/East China) and the Taiwanese Institute of Knowledge Innovation, and was held in Qingdao, Shandong, P.R. China, October 26 - November 1, 2013. The conference received 653 submitted papers from 10 countries, of which 214 papers were selected by the committees to be presented at ICICE 2013. Innovation, Communication and Engineering

In the exciting era of 1960's pop music Steve helped form a Rock n' Roll band that achieved considerable success in South Wales of the UK and, as his story shows, may well have gone onto greater things. Although the band always thought that the singer had enormous potential, little did they know that he would later grow into an international singing star. The band was Shakin' Stevens and the Sunsets and Steve was the bass player in the original Sunsets line-up. There has been much misinformation published about these early years, in print and on the Internet, a great deal of it seemingly to denigrate the early group members. In this book Steve, as the last surviving member of the original Sunsets, puts the record right - as he says - he was there. Steve has written in a humorous style which makes for an entertaining read that nonetheless brilliantly captures the essence of the era through the eyes of a successful local band. he goes on to recount his career both before and after the Sunsets, highlighting the changes in pop music tastes.

A Shaky Start

Friendly Fire explores the intrigue and treachery between - and within - the nations that were ostensibly allies during the Second World War. It demonstrates the extent to which the Allied war effort was driven by vested interests primarily concerned with the balance of power in the post-war world rather than the defeat of Germany and Japan. It relays the shocking truth about now-legendary figures - Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin - who actively shaped the destiny of countless millions, and details the real agenda behind the formation of the post-war world and the consequences for us all.
