Sprachheterogene Konstellationen im Regelunterricht stellen eine Möglichkeit dar, die mehrsprachigen 'Ressourcen' der Lernenden für die Vermittlung von Fachinhalten zu nutzen. Dazu müssen sie allerdings differenzierter bestimmt und vermittlungsmethodisch reflektiert werden. Mit den interdisziplinären Analysen von mehrsprachigem Mathematiklernen gehen die Autorinnen und Autoren u.a. der Frage nach, worin die diskursiven Bedingungen bestehen, um verstehens- und lernförderliches mehrsprachiges Handeln zu ermöglichen. Im Zentrum steht also die epistemische Funktion von Mehrsprachigkeit. In detaillierten qualitativen Analysen von Gruppen- und plenarer Arbeit in Phasen der Themeneinführung, Themenausarbeitung und Konsolidierung wird das mehrsprachige Handeln der Lernenden (Sekundarstufe I an vier verschiedenen Schulen) untersucht und werden die Strukturen mehrsprachiger Wissensprozessierung im Unterrichtsdiskurs rekonstruiert. How can we deal with the diversity of theories in mathematics education? This was the main question that led the authors of this book to found the Networking Theories Group. Starting from the shared assumption that the existence of different theories is a resource for mathematics education research, the authors have explored the possibilities of interactions between theories, such as contrasting, coordinating, and locally integrating them. The book explains and illustrates what it means to network theories; it presents networking as a challenging but fruitful research practice and shows how the Group dealt with this challenge considering five theoretical approaches, namely the approach of Action, Production, and Communication (APC), the Theory of Didactical Situations (TDS), the Anthropological Theory of the Didactic (ATD), the approach of Abstraction in Context (AiC), and the Theory of Interest-Dense Situations (IDS). A synthetic presentation of each theory and their connections shows how the activity of networking generates questions at the theoretical, methodological and practical levels and how the work on these questions leads to both theoretical and practical progress. The core of the book consists of four new networking case studies which illustrate what exactly can be gained by this approach and what kind of difficulties might arise.

Die Entwicklung theoretisch und empirisch begründeter Unterrichtsdesigns ist das Ziel zahlreicher Forschungsansätze. Dieses Ziel wird aber oft durch problematische Verkürzungen verstellt. In diesem Band werden zwei Forschungsprogramme vorgestellt, die die Entwicklung von Unterrichtsdesigns mit empirischer Forschung so verknüpfen, dass Verkürzungen vermieden werden. Im Dortmunder Ansatz zur Fachdidaktischen Entwicklungsforschung des Forschungs- und Nachwuchskollegs 'FUNKEN' werden Entwicklung und Forschung iterativ miteinander verbunden und es werden Bedingungen formuliert, wie forschungsbasierte und praxistaugliche Unterrichtsdesigns zu gestalten sind. In den Oldenburger Promotionsprogrammen 'ProDid' und 'ProfaS' werden die Perspektiven von Lernenden auf fachliche Inhalte und die von Lehrenden auf die Strukturierung von Unterricht empirisch untersucht. Die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse werden nach dem Modell der Didaktischen Rekonstruktion systematisch mit fachlichen Positionen verglichen und dadurch für die Entwicklung von Unterrichtsdesigns nutzbar gemacht. In dreizehn Beiträgen wird aufgezeigt, wie lang der Weg hin zu tragfähigen Unterrichtsdesigns ist, welche Aufgaben in den Programmen zu bewältigen sind und welche Ergebnisse dabei erzielt werden können.
