Il n'a fallu que quelques mots à Issei Tomine pour faire chuter la fréquentation du restaurant Ma famille. Face à cette injustice, Shizuku décide d'aider son propriétaire à redresser la barre pour convaincre Issei de son erreur. Le voici donc parti avec Miyabi à déterminer quels vins s'accordent avec les plats. Avec un terrain parfois glissant : le chablis et les vins blancs ne sont pas encore les plus connus de Shizuku...

Les gouttes de Dieu

En quête de vins pouvant rivaliser avec les cinq grands châteaux, Shizuku reçoit une aide inopinée: madame "Le Pin". Grâce à cette dernière, M. Robert aiguille Shizuku sur la bonne voie, lui donnant accès à pas moins de 500 vins! Sauf que, même si le choix s'est grandement réduit, il n'est pas toujours aisé de choisir parmi plusieurs centaines de bouteilles...

Kanzaki Shizuku is the son of a recently deceased, world-renowned wine critic, Kanzaki Yutaka, who owns a vast wine collection. In order to take ownership of his legacy, he must find 13 wines, known as 'The Twelve Apostles' and 'Les Gouttes de Dieu' that his father described in his will. He has a competitor by the name of Toomine Issei - an acclaimed young wine critic who just happens to be his father's adopted son. Shizuku has never drunk, nor had any previous knowledge of wine, but with strong senses he submerges himself in the world of wine to solve the mysteries of the 13 wines.

New World

In the New World arc, the focus shifts from the European wines found in most Tokyo wine bars to the wine cellars of Napa Valley and the wine makers of Australia. The next apostle is destined to change the perspective of wine drinkers everywhere as it brings hope to the future of wine. Shizuku takes off for a trip across the Pacific to Chile before heading out to Oz in search of a sensational Shiraz. While Issei and his new drinking partner find the naunaces of Syrah in Northern California.
