Terry Allen Kupers M.D., M.S.P. is a renowned psychiatrist and expert on the detrimental effects of solitary confinement.He is known for his expertise in the fields of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, forensics, and social and community psychiatry. He currently holds the title of Professor Emeritus at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. Kupers has authored five books, edited another two, and written close to one hundred articles and book chapters. His forensic psychiatry experience includes testimony in several large class action litigations concerning jail and prison conditions, sexual abuse, and the quality of mental health services inside correctional facilities.
