English summary: In Christian language usage, terms such as baptism, church or belief are of central significance. They go back to the days of the New Testament. On the basis of the Pauline Letters, i.e. the oldest of the New Testament scriptures, the author identifies the usage of such terms and examines them from an historical semantic perspective. He thereby focuses on the Pauline use of the term 'pistis' and its derivatives, which he examines and classifies etymologically with respect to the question of the emergence of a 'Christian language', including the question of an adequate understanding of the syntagm 'pistis Iesou Christou'. While the current discourse is determined by the alternative meanings 'belief in Jesus Christ' and 'belief of Jesus Christ', this study proposes a new solution on the basis of etymological and idiomatic analyses. Die so genannte »Freiburger Schule« innerhalb der Bibelwissenschaft gehört nach Gerd Theißen zu den »bedeutendsten Impulsen« aus katholischer Feder, die in die biblische Exegese in jüngster Zeit hineinwirken. Ohne das Wirken Max Küchlers ist diese »Freiburger Schule«, die die Welt der antiken Bilder und ihrer lebensweltlichen Kontexte mit biblischen Texten verbindet und in diesem Sinne auch neutestamentliche Texte erdet und die »sichtbare Seite von Religion« (G. Theißen) aufarbeitet, nicht denkbar. Aus Anlass seines 75. Geburtstags haben sich Freunde, Kollegen und Schüler der Aufgabe gestellt, in den Spuren Küchlers biblische Exegese weiterzudenken. Orientiert an drei Themenfeldern, die aus den Arbeiten Küchlers erwachsen, untersuchen die Autorinnen und Autoren die Zusammenhänge von »Bild und Text«, »Topographie und Text« sowie »Geschlecht und Text« und spüren dabei neuen Kontexten und Perspektiven für das Verständnis biblischer Texte nach.
