The present book (russian edition) is a statistical course for undergraduate students in all fields of social and economic sciences. The book presents a manual on the course "General Theory of Statistics", including a series of not quite traditional topics. First of all, it concerns the mathematical bases of statistics and use of computer technologies in statistical probing. Thematic choice of the chapters and sections of the book is caused not only by interests and tastes of the authors, but also by modern tendencies in applied statistics and orientation of the given work. The book is based on a course of lectures given by the first author for undergraduates in social and economic sciences along with three books published in Russian and English in Estonia, Lithuania and Byelorussia.This book has been written for a large enough audience of teachers, researchers, statisticians, students, collegians and users of statistics in behavioral and social sciences. Above all, the book is directed to a wide circle of the readers studying statistical disciplines in high schools and colleges; however, it can be useful also to persons independently studying statistics.

Systems of computer mathematics find more and more broad use in a number of natural, economical and social fields. One of leaders among means of this class undoubtedly is the Mathematica system. The book focuses on an important aspect - procedural and functional programming supported by the Mathematica. This aspect is of particular importance not only for appendices but also above all it is quite important in the creation of the user means which extend the most frequently used standard means of the Mathematica system and/or eliminate its shortcomings, or complement with the new interesting facilities. The present book contains over 1140 software etudes not only which are illustrating effective methods of programming in Mathematica system and many subtleties and undocumented opportunities of its software, but also being of undoubted interest as the means expanding and supplementing the system means. In a certain historical context etudes have appeared as a result of development of the number of rather large projects in the Mathematica system connected with the solution of mathematical problems, computer researches of the classical cellular automata, modeling, etc. In the course of programming of these projects the certain software fragments presenting mass character have been formed later on in the kind of the separate procedures and functions that have made the basis of the package attached to the present book. Many etudes presented here contain a rather useful and effective methods of programming in Mathematica system. The presented etudes are small by the size of program code and can be in case of need rather easily analysed and, perhaps, are modified for specific conditions of application. It must be kept in mind that along with the software having both the applied, and the system character together with illustrating of rather useful methods of programming; at that, the present book represents a rather convenient organization of the user software that supported by a large number of the means for its serving. Software represented in the book contains a number of useful and effective receptions of the procedural and functional programming in the Mathematica system that extend the system software and allow sometimes much more efficiently and easily to program the software for various purposes, above all, wearing system character. Among them there are means which are of interest from the point of view of including of their or their analogs in standard tools of the Mathematica system, at the same time they use approaches, useful in programming of applications. The above software rather essentially dilates the Mathematica functionality and can be useful enough for programming of many problems above all of system character. At the same time, it must be kept in mind that the classification of the represented means by their appointment in a certain measure has a rather conditional character because these tools can be crossed substantially among themselves by the functionality. The freeware package MathToolBox containing the above means is attached to the present book. The book is oriented on a wide enough circle of the users of computer mathematics systems, researchers, teachers and students of universities for courses of computer science, physics, mathematics, and a lot of other natural disciplines. This book will be of interest also to the specialists of industry and technology which use the computer mathematics systems in own professional activity. At last, the book is a rather useful handbook with fruitful methods on the procedural and functional programming in the Mathematica system.

New Software for Mathematical Package Maple of Releases 6, 7 and 8

Book Description The book represents a library of well-designed software, which well supplements the already available Maple software with the orientation towards the widest circle of the Maple users, greatly enhancing its usability and effectiveness. The current library version contains tools (more than 570 procedures and program modules) that are oriented onto wide enough spheres of computing and information processing. The library is structurally similar to the main Maple library and is supplied with the advanced Help system about the tools located in it. In addition, the library is logically connected with the main Maple library, providing access to the tools contained in it similarly to the package tools. The library will be of special interest above all to those who use Maple of releases 6 - 9.5 not only as a highly intellectual calculator but also as environment for programming of different problems in own professional activities. The represented source codes of the library tools, using both the effective and the non-standard technique, can serve as an useful enough practical programming guide on the Maple language. Author Biography Professor Aladjev V. was born on June 14, 1942 in the town Grodno (Byelorussia). Now, he is the First vice-president of the International Academy of Noosphere and the president of Tallinn Research Group, whose scientific results have received international recognition, first, in the field of mathematical theory of Cellular Automata (CA). He is member of a series of Russian and International Academies. Aladjev V. is the author of more than 300 scientific publications, including 60 books, published in many countries. He participates as a member of the organizing committee and/or a guest lecturer in many international scientific forums in mathematics and cybernetics. A New Software Toolbox for Maple

Computer Algebra Systems

The book consists of two parts. The first part consists of seven chapters and presents a new software for package Maple of releases 6-10. The tools represented in this chapters increase the range and efficiency of use of Maple on Windows platform. The basic attention is devoted to additional tools created in the process of practical use and testing the Maple of releases 4 - 10 which by some parameters extend essentially the opportunities of the package and facilitate the work with it.Whereas the algorithms of physical and engineering problems of the second part mainly use the finite element method (FEM). The part consists of eight chapters and solves in Maple environment the physical and engineering problems from such fields as: thermal conductivity, mechanics of deformable bodies, theory of elasticity, hydrodynamics, hydromechanics, etc. At last, application of Maple for solution of optimization problems is presented.
