Waguih Ghali

About

Waguih Ghali was an Egyptian writer, best known for his novel Beer in the Snooker Club. Fearing political persecution, Ghali spent his adult years impoverished, living in exile in Europe. He died on 5 January 1969, after a fatal overdose of sleeping pills taken 10 days before.
