these are always so good. maybe i should start reading these after books i don't really like so that i will be happy afterwards and not sad because these always pick me up and make me smile. this family and the story just gets better and better. this is another perfect volume that i am so happy to have read.
Yuri's character, outside of him being secret police, is built around his close, devotional relationship with Yor, his older sister. I'm not a fan of the protective brother trope — not here and not in the Cupcake Bakery series by Jenn McKinlay. In Yor's case it's completely ridiculous since she's a freelance assassin and from the flashbacks, has been for about ten years. http://pussreboots.com/blog/2022/comm...

More secrets and shenanigans from the Forger family. Funny and odd and adorable. I am rooting for them. They just need one thing to make their little family complete. Looks like they will get it soon and I can't wait.

I have put off reviewing this series because I have absolutely no words to describe how much I love them. It is hilarious and chaotic how the fake family functions.
The art is insanely amazing, everyone's facial expressions at different points crack me up so much. Especially Anya when she reads people's minds; the shock she displays is beyond anything.
I love how centered and calm Twilight is, balancing out Yor's and Anya's chaos.
I am also watching the anime as I finish reading the volumes, and the art is SO CLOSE to the manga and the BGM complements the mayhem so well!
Guyssssssss this family is literally the best. They all try so hard to be the best socially acceptable versions of themselves for each other and I love it. Mind reading is normally done so awkwardly in entertainment but Anya is both an amazing example of a telepath learning to use their abilities without others realizing while still being an adorable six year old child. Yor's brother being a police officer is also hilarious, and I loved him trying to expose Loid (I really hope they don't make that conflict too sad because imagine how depressing it could get if he realizes who Yor is/who Loid is and has to do something about it)
