           I ALMOST didn't get through with this one. The story finally made some sense and the plot was starting to actually unravel but it was still boring. This was not how I expected it to be. All the characters are plain.

Everyone clearly has PTSD. But why did SJM turn Tamlin into a villain? Maybe it's because some people who have PTSD actually project their trauma onto other people without them knowing it (this does not justify Tamlin's actions or anything) but why did he have to turn into a villain?

so i enjoyed this book a lot more than the first. rhys is way more interesting than tamlin as well as his family.

however these books are kind of giving me twilight vibes. like there were a lot of things i would read, and put the book down and either roll my eyes or just crack up laughing because its really so unserious. and sometimes the plot is just, im just like this is ridiculous. i think they are still fun and im having a fun time reading the series, i just cant take it seriously. 

also the villain this time is not scary at all compared to the first book. like i really did not think anyone was in danger ever.

Now I see why everyone says this is their favorite. Probably one of the longer books I’ve ever read and I finished it in 4 days. I could not put it down. 

There are so many things about this book to love. The banter, the found family, the connections, the settings, the background, the bonds. I want it all. Cannot wait to jump into the third.

This one had such a slow build up that I literally fell asleep reading it several times. I was honestly expecting it to be more nightmare-ish but instead got lots of Feyre sleeping and not eating or being able to keep it down for more than half the book! I understand that she became something else when she was brought back to life but losing interest in everything she had dreamed of before was depressing. 

I wanted more growth from Tamlin since I felt short changed in the first book and I guess I got a little more if you consider changing his entire demeanor character growth. At least his right hand man remained the same. Loyal, kind and caring. Lucien will forever be my favorite character in this series no doubt. 

Rhysand and his “family” were the more obvious stars in this book and I think they all had great character growth. It broke my heart when Azriel and Cassian were brutally injured. Azriel, a quiet warrior. Cassian, a sarcastic but highly trained warrior. I admired the female characters for their own strengths and sisterhood. Never was there a jealous moment and feuds that usually follow suit when you put so many females together. I actually envied the bonds they all made. Rhysand was a smart man for making Morrigan and Amren his second and third in command. Those ladies are fierce. 

I liked Rhysand for his dark mystery from the beginning and I knew that Feyre would soon fall for him. Given the love triangle routine I actually felt like this one was done right. No back and forth or feeling such a powerful love for both simultaneously. Feyre loved Tamlin as a human but when she changed so did he. I might also believe that Tamlin never truly loved Feyre. Having a heart of stone and all. I think he is a lot like Rhysand when it comes to protecting their people. Willing to do just about anything. 

The villains in this story weren’t nearly as terrifying as Amarantha was and I was bracing myself for that bigger, badder monster to come along. While I didn’t see much from the new villain here it ended on such a cliffhanger that there is bound to be more on that in book 3. I unfortunately have to wait until someone returns it to my library or make a quick online purchase to continue this journey.

By far my favourite of the series (though I'm only on book 3 right now) but god, Rhysand had me giggling like a goddamn schoolgirl. The spice is pretty subpar for me as someone who grew up reading fanfiction but it did not mean I didn't enjoy their banter, the tension and the CREW. Loved every goddamn second of reading it.

This picks up three months later where the first book of the series left off: Feyre has endured so many trials and hardships in her life. More than one person should carry. She is haunted and hollow after what she faced under the mountain trying to save Tamlin and his people. Looking at eternity as one of the High Fae, she has to figure out what she wants. 
Her marriage is approaching, but the closer it gets, the more divided she feels. Part of her wants to uphold her bargain with Rhysand, the High Lord of the Night Court, and the other part wants to float through life with Tamlin in the Spring Court. Through it all, Feyre learns how to weave through the deception, intrigue, great power, and evil looming on the horizon. Feyre might be the key to saving them all again, but before she can save anyone, she has to put the fractured pieces of herself back in order and master her new gifts.

-The characters:
Even though this book is more plot driven, what I loved the most were the characters (even the secondary ones). I loved the depth of each and every character, the way Maas makes you feel every move, every bit of darkness, every bit of swoon and ship her characters like nobody else has the power to.
I don’t have words to describe how much I love Feyre. Her character development is one of the best I have ever read. Throughout the whole entire book, she keeps on getting better and better and I just have to declare myself a fan of her. The way she becomes stronger and confident with herself and with the world of the Fae, as well as with her new immortal powers and how she transformed her pain after what happened Under the Mountain into hard work and love for her new family in Velaris, remaining true to herself at all times and protecting everyone around her and her sisters above herself. I also really loved how Maas wrote her trauma and her mental health problems as it felt so realistic, authentic and sensitively handled. 
The way I would die for Rhysand without a second thought. OH MY GOD WHAT A MAN. Everytime him and Feyre talked I just wanted to SUE SARAH J. MAAS FOR CREATING THIS PERFECT MAN AND NOT BEING REAL. He’s not my crush, I’m just simply in love with him, period. I would let this man destroy me, run me over, do whatever the actual fuck he wants to do with and to me: feminism who? What’s that? Idk, I’m his whore. In all seriousness, I found him to be not only the most perfect man I have ever read but such a wonderful and funny character. There was so much depth in his character and I loved that I got to know more about his past and his motivations. I particularly liked how supportive he was of Feyre becoming stronger and more independent. The way he loves his friends and his people and the way he feels everything with such strong will, going through all the abuse and trauma for fifty years only to keep everyone safe just made me love him even more, and his character development is also incredible, acting as one of the coldest High Lords but he is selfless and loyal and kind and sweet and just perfect. And I will die alone because no one compares to him.

I would’ve loved to know more about Mor and Azriel (because wtf is going on with them), Cassian (but he already has my entire heart because he’s just too kind and too beautiful and too good for the world) and Amren (who I love because what a glorious bitch, I declare myself a fan of her completely). What I can say about them is that I love them all and the little family they have created. About Nesta and Elain, I’m in the same situation as I can’t say too much about them, but after what happened with them I cannot wait to know about their powers and how they’re going to deal with heir new lives!

-My opinion:
I bow down to the queen Sarah J. Maas. What a masterpiece of a book. I would’ve never thought I would end up reading this series, but I caved in and now I can’t stop and I am so thankful about it. The amount of drugs the author put on this book is not normal. First of all, the relationship between Rhys and Feyre, an incredible slow burn that ended up being one of the most beautiful and sexy romances I’ve read in my whole life. Second, the little but wonderful family between all of them. SO MANY MORE THINGS! This book got me out of my reading slump and I read it in two days, I couldn’t stop reading for the life of me and I needed to know what was going to happen next. This book made me feel so many things while reading it, I couldn’t stop gasping or giggling at all times, and laughing at Cassian and Rhysand’s silly banters, as well as how Rhys loved to bother Feyre with his stupid comments at the beginning. I found the worldbuilding to be spectacular, the way Sarah writes is so beautiful and I just want to live in Prythian (specifically in Velaris please and thank you) just because of how beautifully described everything is and I also very much enjoyed how the smut is written. Overall, I don’t think I have any negative points about it, but maybe I expected Feyre’s sisters to appear a bit more and also Tamlin (yes, I’m fucking crazy); other than that, I don’t have any complaints whatsoever (but I’m pissed af because we didn’t get a chapter of Rhysand and Feyre’s wedding). I probably have so many more stuff to say but I still can’t get over how wonderful this was.
In conclusion: this book was just brilliant, I loved everything about it and I can’t wait to read the third book (because I still have so many answers and I just can’t wait). I think this series is an absolute must for everyone that loves fantasy romance (specially if you’re looking for other crushes to fall in love with).
